@epicer You didn’t qualify for any deposit waivers? I had my deposit waived at other schools I have notified of my “intent” to enroll. … haha. “intent”….my “intent” to rescind after USC accepts me. Jk.

Does everyone in USConnect under Financial Aid>>Required Info & Forms>>Document Library see “Documents for Upload/Fax” and with options for appeals?

Sorry to stir the pot I just hadn’t noticed it before.

@fdominguez I’m pretty sure that’s always been there, I noticed it several weeks ago.

@xsayax

Oh well, it was worth a shot, waiting gets a little crazy @-) after a while.

@epicer I understand where you are coming from but I don’t think they’re just using it to stall. The reason why i because there is so much we miss when we just state GPA’s–there’s no context. I said this awhile back but I’ll say it again: All 4.0’s aren’t equal. I would feel offended if someone with a 4.0 who was only taking one class and the class was Hot Dog Eating 210 got in and I had a 3.7 but taking 21 credit hours in all upper division business courses at my university and I didn’t get in. I would feel cheated. Now if a 4.0er with the same qualifications as the 3.7er got rejected, I would want to know who they were competing with for admission (because, essentially, they are competing with others for admission). In that case, I feel like the school did use an SGR just to see if the student they were competing with had the same–or even better–stats. In that case, they would probably go all the way back to the strength of the essays and who would be a better fit of the two. We have to consider each possibility.

So, I think it would be nice if people started adding context to their rejected 4.0’s so we don’t have situations where people feel like it doesn’t matter how well they do academically because it’s all a crapshoot anyway.

@fdominguez It’s always been there. But, if it was an indicator of admission it would probably mean you were accepted. Why else would you need to appeal your financial aid?

@epicer I commend you for your thoughts haha I have similar feelings but a little less hostile, but i knew everything before I sent my common app in. You should have read up on your stuff going in. Also to make sure that you don’t get a parking ticket park by the baseball field they have a parking lot there and pay 3 or 4 dollars I forget and then run 600 feet to admissions! If you do that at least you won’t get a parking ticket!

So I just received an email from the admission office. As I anxiously opened it it says that some materials are still missing, which is my toefl score. I am an international student current studying in the University of Miami. It’s been too long since I last took my toefl (plus it’s under 100 which USC requires). What should I do now? Should I take toefl again (it might be too late…) or is there any alternative way for toefl?

is it pretty safe to say that if we don’t get a spring grade request by the end of next week what we won’t be getting one at all? Hope so I’d rather be outright rejected, not have to stress over getting a 4.0, and know where I’m going to school before mid-July!

Man.

they keep telling me that i am missing my winter grade, but i sent it weeks ago!

Dont tell me they were looking at my app and stop looking at it since they dont have my WGR. But i sent it in, got the receipt that i sent it in, and i contacted them saying they got it and it is in process for filing.

Does it take long to process a transcript? I sent a paper one on the 14th, uploaded a scan one on the 15th.

SGRed on Tuesday :’(

Hey guys,

Looks like it’s getting crazy on this thread… I have some good news for you all. Just received my admission folder in the mail last night (it looks super fancy)! Didn’t get an e-mail or phone call or any changes in my portal prior to this event. I know it’s hard, but don’t be anxious! You’ll get an answer when you least expect it.

P.S. I chose Berkeley over USC but that just means there’s an open seat for someone right? :)

Congrats @vivitheripper! I hope you like Berkeley. Did your stars report change on OASIS?

Can everybody log into OASIS???

@Karlos I’d say USC is pretty quick with processing materials. Call them and ask if I were you.

@kyrakyrayu919 I am an international student too and my toefl score expired as well that’s why I retook it and sent it. You should know clearly international students are required to submit toefl scores while you were applying. It’s too late to take one now, the latest result they accepted is from the last December. But if you scored over 600+ in SAT reading, in this case you will be waived to submit your toefl. If not, then…well, I guess you need to call them and find out what you need to do

So pretty much everyone who doesn’t get accepted first batch will get an SGR? That’s what it seems like

For the Annenberg Applicants: Talked to admissions official from Annenberg yesterday. Theyve had to lower the number of transfers accepted because they got a lot ofternal transfers as well. Plus it was a record year for them as far as applicants go. Sooo chances are getting slimmer and we will be waiting till atleast late may. I wonder why you cant withdraw your application anymore or how its not open to the public? maybe its too late haha

Then we probably have to compete with each other for the remaining spots that weren’t taken because I’m pretty sure they don’t reserve our spots. I’m hoping they do though

@Emma927 yes.

I wonder how many freshmen have enrolled because that has a direct effect on how many transfers they accept.
