@fdominguez I completely agree. Additionally, we have to realize that this group of people on this forum is just a small sample of the total number of applicants, we don’t have all of the information.

Yeah I guess so, I was just basing it off of last years thread as I said.
Just looking at the small samples of GPA and stats we’re getting from this thread I am also realizing that USC might be giving decisions based off of GPA’s because first all the 4.0s got admitted then 3.9+ then 3.8+ and now within the 3.7+ range ( the trend I am noticing for Dornsife specifically). Well I guess no one knows, but yeah just trying to gather as much interpretation as I can!

@hepburn95 Agree!

@maymonroe94 That’s funny because that was my first conclusion regarding Marshall but then debunked it since I saw later some more 3.9s and 4.0s atleast for Marshall that is. It might be different for other department, you might be right, thing is no one can tell you with a certainty.

I feel like a lot of people seem to be choosing UCs or other privates even after being admitted to USC. I noticed that even for last years thread which might be why they took a lot of people with SGRs

@fdominguez yeah it really varies by department

@sielburt not everybody hears back at the beginning of June. Spring grade requests don’t hear back until mid July according to usc connect.

@scahopeful usc also has articulation agreements with California community colleges so that’s why I think that most of the admits are from California community colleges

@almxy45 People hear back in mid-July at the latest. Those are typically the people who send their grades late, usually people on the quarter system. Most people get a decision within 2 weeks of submitting their spring grades. A friend of mine sent hers in last year and got accepted 4 days later.

@bikal, Congrats! How did you find out?
@transfersammy, I’m a psych major too, and I didn’t get an SGR

Anybody who applied to Dornsife as an econ major still waiting, with no SGR??

@almxy45 I know. That’s why I said you’ll have some kind of decision by the date they said you would. Meaning you’ll have an acceptance, rejection, or an SGR by June 3rd.

To anyone that got an SGR, did the admissions office send a physical copy to your address? Also, the SGR said that “special instructions” are enclosed for sending the spring grades. Only problem is that I never got any of these instructions. I’m guessing once I get my spring grades, I just ask my school to send the official transcript right?

@bobo79 yes, the office of admission send an physical copy to your address. I just got the instructions today.
Here are the instructions:

Acceptable documents for submission
Offical transcript (an unofficial transcript is also acceptable should an offical transcript not be readily available)
An copy of an electronic or unofficial student grade report
Grade cards containing : course name, number and title , number of units, final grade, professors signature

The mailing address to send it to:
Office manager
USC office of admission
P.O. Box 77952
Los Angeles, CA 90007- 0952

Or you can upload it to use connect

Thanks @hepburn95

@bobo79 Yea, I got my SGR a week ago, and just got the physical letter today. As for the instructions, you can either digitally upload an unofficial transcript to get the grades to them faster (while still sending them an official transcript), send in grade card (not really sure on this since option but I’m not doing it anyway), or you can just send in the official copy and wait a little longer.

If you can upload an unofficial copy, that would make things go a little faster. But it is up to you.

@maymonroe94 I don’t think they release decisions by GPA, although I guess it could be based on major & then by GPA, but I have a 4.0 & I’m still waiting to hear back. Though, I don’t think any transfers for SCA have heard anything yet, so it’s quite possible when they do send out their responses they would arrive in order of GPA. I think it’s more likely that they will send out all their responses in one big wave.

bump

@rawshark You are SCA that’s why it’s not by GPA for you. For Dornsife it’s different! Every department varies by what they pay most attention to.

@maymonroe94 Gotcha. I figured every dept handles things a little differently. For some reason, I thought you had been speculating about SCA.

I heard all the freshmen applicants(rising sophomore) will definitely get SGR… Is that true?
