@almxy45 Yeah, I think some people mentioned how they heard back within a few days of the AO receiving their grades.

@bobo79 I have to ask, what were the rest of your grades? Say, out of 4 classes this semester you got A,A,A, and B+, that wouldn’t be an issue as much as if you got A, C, B, B+ - Especially if your grade trend is mostly As and rarely Bs. Reasoning is that USC likes to see an “upward trend” in grades and if you deviate from that trend, they might see that as a weakness or can’t decide on whether you are a good fit for them. ALSO, the 2nd year english course is a pre-req for ALL transfers, not just Marshall (Unless, you are coming from a 4-year that doesn’t offer it and they give you a waiver).

I got a SGR early May, but my grades don’t come out until June 20th; is it possible to have your STARS audit report filled out before even submitting your spring grades, or are they usually filled out right before USC gives out acceptances via USCConnect/ mail?

@keepfighting1 I’m under the impression they can only make a decision about whether they will accept or decline you once they receive your spring grades - therefore, I don’t see them filling out your Stars report before submitting your grades.

Is it possible someone can get waitlisted? Or is that only for freshmen? If transfers CAN get waitlisted, is it possible the filled out Stars audit report could indicate that wait list?

@greengecko I’m don’t think there would be a specific waitlist for this whole process. If anything, a SGR is kind of a waitlist IMO.

I was wondering do you guys think that someone who is a junior would be accepted without an SGR, even if they are taking prequistes their spring term? Maybe this is just wishful thinking ;-/

(I posted this before but I think this might give us perspective)

What does it mean if my Stars audit report is just blank when I click on the link?

Also I’m a little lost with Oasis. What exactly does it do?

@Orangecounty95 Not much. Please read through the thread, this question has been asked and answered in every angle imaginable that it would be inadequate for me to answer your question in less than 1000 words. BUT----long and the short is that it doesn’t mean anything. When it is filled out, thats when it might be a positive sign. Again, read through the thread and you’ll be a master in Oasis “signals.”

@OrangeCounty95 The blank page means a decision has not been made yet. As far as I know, Oasis is where you handle your clerical things with USC. Like your classes, financial aid, stuff like that.

@ilovestemcells Please, read through this admission blog concerning essays DIRECTLY from USC. Here is the link. http://admissionblog.usc.edu/2011/10/27/essay-tips/

@HopeForMarshall so because the admit for freshmen this year is lower, would they accept more compared to last year or less?

In my opinion less because there are less spots from last year’s freshmen admits

@HopeforMarshall All of my grades are A or A- with the exception of English. I was just worried since it was a pre-req compared to economics or philosophy. Not sure if they give additional weight on pre-reqs.

I have been following this thread but I need to post coz I am freaking out right now. I got SGRed on May 13th but I got C in Calculus 2. I am taking 20 units and got A in all classes: accounting, CIS, business, speech but only C in calculus. My GPA was 3.66 but now it has declined to 3.59. Oh and I applying for Marshall, and calculus 2 is one of my major requirement. I am worried.

@HeavenlyForest It’s good that you got As in all of your other classes, but since Calc 2 is one of your major requirements, I think you, unfortunately, might have a reason to worry. I wish you the best of luck!

@hepburn95 I am going to talk to my professor, I refuse to accept “C” I have been getting either A or high B in all the tests unless I completely bombed the final. ( but I did pretty well). Huv u already been accepted? USC really like upward trend, if I get rejected, I am really going to be in denial for a while.

Here I am, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.

@HeavenlyForest I have not yet been accepted. I received an SGR, my finals are this week, and I am confident that I will get a 4.0 this semester while taking 22 units. I also have a strong upward trend, so I am too hoping for the best.

@hepburn95 You are golden since you took 22 units and still got 4.0. Good luck to you as well.

@HeavenlyForest Thank you for the positivity, I really appreciate it! I hope USC agrees. I hope they overlook that grade too, it sounds like you’ve worked really hard, and it’s frustrating to get a lower grade out of nowhere. I hope to see you around campus in the fall!
