Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@Fatroosi All of these questions have been answered between pages 1 and 274 of this thread. It’s a lot of reading but very informative :-B

@scahopeful Can you answer them for me?

@Fatrooosi‌ What planet are you from?

Man, these SC threads always seem to follow the same route. Around this time, it’s always OASIS stuff 24/7…

@plaurance Seriously how the hell do I log on to OASIS? I don’t believe I got a USC ID?

@Fatrooosi Everyone has a USC ID. It’s on the catalogue they sent you in the mail and on USConnect.

As far as the logging in to OASIS, it’s been talked about at least 15 times in this thread and definitely within the last 5 pages.

Lastly, I kid you not, any question you may have concerning OASIS has probably been answered in the last 20 pages. You can also do a thread search at the top to save time if you don’t want to read the whole thing.

I’ve been positive up until this point, but I am 90% sure Im rejected. I have no courses in my oasis cart and BARELY had my restrictions updated this morning. I’ll tell you what it was updated for, REJECTION. smh. But I am a believer of everything happens for a reason so it wan not meant to be.Congrats to people who got in! :)

@bennyisbanksy no! stay positive. at least your restriction was updated! wait couple of days because i’ve been reading old posts and i read that it takes a day or two to change! what’s your major/college?

@Bennyisbanksy I think you should read the last few pages :)>-

They’re all about how the course cart is meaningless and there are no true indicators of rejection. Don’t give up hope! What are your stats?

does it matter if you have ever accesseed oasis or not?

@estara89 In regards to what?

@bennyisbanksy Hey it’s USC’s loss that we probably aren’t accepted. I almost feel pity for USC on missing out.

@Bennyisbanksy‌ we are in the exact same situation haha. Having nothing in the cart doesn’t mean a thing, but I am thinking we should know tomorrow if our audit report is updated.

I was pretty positive until yesterday when there was a movement of links and the different pages that now come up on Oasis. My restrictions haven’t been updated as of 03:44pm on 05/01/2014. I’ll just apply again next year around and try and build a more impressive application.

Congratulations to everyone who was admitted!

And to those who are finding themselves in the my same boat: This is in no way a reflection of who you are or your potential. Things happen for a reason. You’re still kick ass nerds who can throw down.

“You cannot let a fear of failure, or a fear of comparison, or a fear of judgement stop you from doing what’s going to make you great. You cannot succeed without this risk of failure. You cannot have a voice without the risk of criticism, and you cannot love without the risk of loss. You must go out and take these risks.” - Charlie Day

@odinhelpme …Movement of links?

I think everyone is reading to deeply into minor changes in the system. You all have to remember that it is, afterall, a computer network. It is destined to be glitchy/have changes made to it from a source other that USC (i.e. the IT dept. going in to fix something) or something.

I could see if these changes were only happening to 1 or two people but most of the changes we’ve been talking about have happened to everyone (even confirmed acceptances). Please take a break from OASIS so that you don’t stress over nothing.

@scahopeful‌ A lot of my links on the financial aid lead me to a completely different websites that require an additional log-in procedure. My oasis course cart completely emptied.

I’m looking at previous years’ forums and all the signs that are being described have been reported by people who later receive rejections. I don’t think IT is that bad every year. Ya’ll are welcome to burn your white flags, but I think it’s safe to call it in my situation.

@odinhelpme my financial aid service lead me to a new/different website and require an additional log-in procedure…
And my restriction date has been changed ever since May 2nd and no SGR… I guess I’ll take mine as a rejection, also.

@odinhelpme It’s just that it’s inconsequential considering the fact that people who have already been accepted have had all these things happen to them. Even people who were recently SGRed and haven’t sent in their grades yet have had this happen. Also, I’m not saying it is definitely IT, I’m saying it could be (just like it could be a glitch or whatever).

The course cart has never been indicative of anything. Ever. Everyone in here has had many different changes to it over time. The adcom is not screwing with you and changing those courses randomly to random dates (e.g. an Engineering class for Fall 2012). It is not unique to you (just like when everyone’s application status check box disappeared a few months ago). If you think you’ve been rejected then okay but I don’t think it’s fair to those who still have hope for others to keep telling them they’ve been rejected.

Anyway, I feel like I’m repeating myself so I’ll refrain from addressing comments regarding OASIS that are not discussing anything new.

will taking registering for summer classes affect students who got sgrs? do you think it will make them delay the decision?

what does it mean if I get sent to a different page when I click on the financial aid services link? It’s then asking for a different log in? like my usc email username and password? so confused…
