Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

who hasn’t heard back?

@HopeForMarshall‌ so since the speculation is since my restriction was update 4/30 and my course cart writing was emptied 2 days ago i should be seeing a rejections letter in the mail?

@olo59u MAy I ask you How you requested a change of major?
I am just accepted as global studies and not into communication…
I am so happy with the decision, but … as you know and as you did, I am kinda confused if I should go and pay that amount of money for the major I am not really into.
Please tell me how you did… Thanks!!!

@HopeForMarshall Good question. Because this is the first time we’re really starting to pay attention to restrictions (in regards to an admission decision) I think it’s too early to tell whether or not updated restrictions alone (w/o a filled out STARS IAR) means anything.

However, I personally believe that updated restrictions could eventually signal an acceptance (in which case, the STARS IAR will be filled out shortly). Por ejemplo, when someone’s restrictions are updated and the STARS IAR hasn’t been filled out, it could still be an acceptance with the completed STARS IAR/an acceptance letter coming within a week (or maybe even more depending on how busy they are at USC) of the restrictions update. Like @Paguy8’s situation.

The last thing I come to is a rejection. This is simply because there hasn’t been any trend/factual evidence that indicates a rejection as a result of updated restrictions w/o a filled out STARS IAR.

TL;DR - To a small extent, I personally agree that it would be unnecessary but not improbable

@whosnext I simply called them and explained I wanted a major change. They gave me an email and told me to send an email with the request and they would get back to me.

delete

@redick4 I haven’t a clue. I was just regurgitating some of the things i’ve read that happened to applicants in last years thread.

@scahopeful I would have to agree with you. In the case of two applicants last year, one had his/her Oasis updated and cart cleared within a few hours of each other and around the next day STARS was filled out and he was accepted, the other had his/her cart cleared and Oasis did not update and no STARS filled out within a day or two and was rejected. I agree with a +/- 51% certainty. LMAO.

@estara89‌

Me :frowning:
Viterbi applicant

@RoysGoin2College how did you find out? Letter in the mail?

And can anyone else NOT get into OASIS? I have my USC ID and I’ve tried the password for USConnect and the MMDDYYYY password, neither work…

@transferyo‌ the person asked who HASN’T heard back

I haven’t heard back loll, sorry if I stirred any more anxiety

Congrats to everyone who got in to USC!!! And to those who got rejected, don’t let it get to you. You might just realize that usc wasn’t the college for you (plenty of other colleges out there

And to those who are still playing the waiting game like me, let us keep thinking positive. Maybe things will turn out for the best.

Can anybody help me out here? My restrictions were updated on 5/14 and my financial aid was updated 5/15 (before it disappeared a few days ago). My stars audit report is not filled out and I haven’t heard anything back via email/mail. Help!

Just called admission office, they said my admission decision had been made, but I check USConnect there is nothing. So nurvious!!!!!

@RoysGoin2College ahh I see. Nervous viterbi applicant over here too, good luck to both of us. (:

Just found out I got in! Don’t lose hope because I never was able to get on OASIS and I still am not able to.
Got into dornsife as an Econ major with a 3.71

@marshallUSC2014 to add to your nervousness, I am also a Marshall Applicant and my restrictions were updated today at 11:53am and course cart was emptied at the same time. What are yours?

Anyone that hasn’t gotten a response from usc = spring admits, SGrd people, or rejections. Happened last year, sorry guys

@HopeForMarshall‌ yes my cart was empty when my restriction changed yesterday and I got the new link for financial aid also requiring a different usc pin!

@paguy08 nice, you got accepted so it might not might not mean something. thanks.

@Surhov818 so your saying if we haven’t heard anything from USC we are most likely to get a rejection?
