Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@wdemasters02‌ While I agree a prestige degree will get your foot in the door, it won’t entirely secure a job position for you.

@hopefultrojan9 Personally, I think that the earlier you send your grades to them, the faster their reply will be. If it is the same as the acceptance process at all, then rest assured you won’t receive a reply after June.

@gabbyrrr As far as I know, they take your 1st and 2nd choice major both into account before sending a SGR, and your 1st choice would obviously be placed as an emphasis to their decision. All the people I’ve heard/read about that were in similar situations as you all got into their 1st major of choice if accepted.

And guys please! I do not speak for others, but I’ve made clear in earlier posts that I’ve been accepted to the Marshall School. Even so, I still love to be a part of this thread in order to read about whether or not each of you got accepted. I also do not think that anyone would ever lie about their acceptance, and even if they did, it doesn’t matter to you or me right? Why try to dissolve discussions when that is the purpose of forums (and this one in particular)?

I wonder how @olo59u (I think it was him/her) appealed their decision…

Have any SGR’s received any updates? If not, I think I am the first on CC to receive some sort of update.

I agree with both sides. I think that once you get your acceptance/rejection you shouldn’t post as much about other things in this thread. Yet this is a free country and anyone should be allowed to post wherever they want. I’m just saying that there is so much going on in this thread now, it was easier to follow when it was just about acceptance/sgr/rejection now that housing, making friends, etc has been thrown in the mix there is so much to sift through. I think that’s the purpose of CC creating so many categories so that all of the threads stay related to one topic. In my opinion if you have a question about financial aid for example, create a thread in the “financial aid” section of CC. That way everything stays related and it’s easy for everyone to follow and get the info they came for. There is no rule stating this thread is strictly about admissions decisions, but that’s what it was about for 90% of the time so it’s implied that that’s what the topic of this thread is. But like I said it’s a free country… I don’t believe anyone should be forced out.

@scahopeful I’m pretty sure that @olo59u was accepted

@scahopeful What was your SGR update?

And I believe that olo emailed Annenberg and asked to transfer into Print Journalism (I think).

My STARS report was filled out this morning!! (I’m a theatre major if anyone was wondering).

@Trojfan131 Restrictions, STARS IAR, STARS report, and USConnect SGR prompt disappeared

@xsayax were you SGRed?

@finefreshfierce what? I know they were accepted… I was asking how they appealed their major decision

@xsayax‌ hi, what time did your restrictions were updated yesterday and what time did you report was filled out today?
I am just asking as my restrictions were updated 10.50am on 05/27, but my report is not yet filled:).

@scahopeful‌ I can’t log into Oasis bc I didn’t apply for financial aid but my SGR prompt was also removed. Maybe they’ve started to work on our apps again.

What GPA did you send in?

Anyone log in to Web reg? What does it say for you guys? https://camel2.usc.edu/webreg/Login.asp</a></p>

@uscindian‌ Oasis doesn’t have to do with whether or not you applied for financial aid. Some people who applied don’t have access, some who didn’t apply do have access.

@hepburn95 oh I’m not sure then. But from what I’ve read, those who can’t access are those who didn’t apply for financial aid. do you know exactly who had access to it without applying for financial aid?

I think they probably were admitted and then could access it but I’ve noticed most people who can’t access it are the ones who didn’t apply for financial aid.

STARS report was updated with my first choice major today!! Restrictions changed yesterday afternoon. I’m a SGR and it looks like I’ll be starting this fall.

I’m still convinced this is some sick joke though since Connect hasn’t updated yet.

@uscindian My cumulative is 3.91 and my spring semester was 3.95. It’s not fact that only FA applicants can log onto oasis. That was pure speculation. Within the last 20 pages there was a discussion about this where several users who didn’t apply chimed in and said they had access. I’m pretty sure they weren’t accepted yet.

@theyadoreyou I’ve been able to log on to WebReg for quite some time. When I log in now it says the same thing it always has (I need to meet with an advisor)

@Bigbythewolf what was your first choice?

@scahopeful Creative Writing :)

Got an SGR this morning for Viterbi Computer Science.

@scahopeful No I wasn’t, but I am a junior applicant if that makes a difference

@lasteak It updated about 4:58 am pst, and my restrictions changed about the same time as yours, but it can take a couple days I’ve heard!

@cidzor Congrats! Can you post your stats on decision thread if you dont mind?
