Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@skhalafi‌ I don’t say this to be rude, only trying to be helpful… You should make sure you spell Annenberg correctly in your appeal.

@gabbyrrr I received an SGR last week, turned in spring grades Friday, and saw the rejection pdf this morning. applied for political science but took calculus 1 and got a C this semester. Considering appeal. Good luck to all fight on!.

@dmdwelle‌ autocorrect thanks though

@erickmorales‌ you turned in spring grades yesterday and got a rejection this morning… Or last Friday? Id appeal for sure. I’m also poli sci, and turned in my spring grades Thursday and … Nothing yet

@5nonnegotiables I sent a request to my current school to send my official transcript last Wednesday. I didn’t see any status update on USC connect regarding my transcript so I just decided to stay safe and upload an unofficial transcript directly to USC connect to be absolutely safe. I guess they should definitely reply by the end of next week.

@bobo79 ok good. I just uploaded my unofficial transcript which they said was fine, but usc connect still shows needing spring grades how about you? Why do you think by next week? I am just hoping not to have to wait till July to hear?

@skhalafi why do you want to leave University of Miami? I got accepted into their journalism program and it’s my back up if usc/nyu don’t work out

@5nonnegotiables‌ apologies, Friday the 23rd, I turned in spring grades. I saw the PDF this morning on USConnect but it is dated May 29th.

@sorakeybade‌ I’ve seen that happen to a few others also! Congrats on your acceptance! (: I’m sure in your case they just wanted to make sure you kept it going. I turned my spring grades in on tuesday and I they brought my gpa up a tiny bit lol I’m hoping!

@erickmorales‌ oh man, sorry to hear that. You should definitely give an appeal a shot! You never know… I hope it works out for you!

So basically from what i’m seeing, once you turn in spring grades they respond with an acceptance/rejection within a week or so.

@5nonnegotiables I’m in the same boat. My USC connect says that they still need spring grades even though I uploaded them. As for the response, based on some people’s posts, USC seems to reply within a week of verifying spring grades. My only question is if they even reviewed my spring grades yet.

Also, whats up with your STARS IAR? All I have is two english courses and it seems it was prepared on May 1st which is kind of late considering when I submitted my application.

REJECTED
kind of thought this would happen, but I sent in my spring grades last week so I was hoping they could factor those in  I was really hoping for a SGR as I got 5 A’s this semester making it my fourth straight semester with a 4.0
at least I don’t have to stress about this anymore
Anyone think its worth it to appeal? I don’t know what exactly I would write to them

they rejected me too :frowning:
going to appeal though. i had less than 30 units completed by the time the application was due.

i applied to USC and usc only this year cuz this was my first year in college.

good luck to yall

@xsayax Yeah I called the admissions office about it. They said their not going to just revoke your admission decision because of one grade. Since I had 4 A’s, 1B and then the one D that screwed my GPA, they said their either just going to take it how it is or I’m going to have to do some extra stuff like retake the one class over the summer to replace it. I’m pretty sure everything will be fine.

Hi fellow CollegeConfidential rejects, as you can guess I was rejected as well.
I was curious as to how you are planning to appeal your admission decision.
Will an e-mail simply asking to see and evaluate my spring grades suffice? What do appeals usually have?

For those who got accepted, congrats from the bottom of my heart and fight on! And best of luck at USC.

Thx for any help.

Got in for second major. But I will not go since I have a full ride at another university for first major. Good luck to you guys.

looks like the mass rejections are dated to come on the 30th…still waiting on my decision nothing on connect and still cant see oasis but a emailed the register @ usc asking for s pin reset and they replayed saying “blank, please use your usc account” hoping that is a good hint at something and also fin aid ask for css profile im still staying +++ im in SD still nothin i reckon if i was getting a small letter would have got it yesterday or today im pretty close to LA close but not too close lol

@skhalafi I think because you applied to Annenberg, you’re appeal process may be more difficult. However, USC advises that you mention ANY new and important information that wasn’t on your common app. So, a great Spring for example would be good to mention.

@asdfg789 To be honest, it just depends on your major and class standing (based on classes that may transfer). If you’re junior standing trying to transfer into Roski then probably not but if your first choice was Dornsife, Marshall, Price, etc. it may be a good idea to appeal no matter what your class standing is. If you read back a few pages, I posted some things that USC wants to know about in your appeal. Also, look at my reply to skhalafi.

Restriction date and Stars IAR updated May 29th and got my yellow taco today xD So unbelievably happy!!

FIGHT ON!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Has anyone been able to access the facebook page?

Congrats:) I have a quick question! Did you send in your official transcript or unofficial transcript? Just wondering if they’ve accepted anyone off their unofficial grades while the official grades are in the process of sending? @fightingtitan (this question is open to everyone, really)
