Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

Does anyone know what I mean when I say I’m confused about which unofficial transcript is appropriate for upload on USCCONNECT? I can’t figure out which unofficial grade report would work on my schools website!

Where does it say or can you check to see what year you are entering in as? I can’t seem to find it anywhere…

@SCGirl101‌ Is this for submitting spring grades? Are you saying that your current college’s website has multiple formats for printing unofficial grades? I don’t really think it matters all that much as long as the report includes the course names & titles, units, and final spring grades. They will verify your grades when your school send official transcripts. And, if for some reason they have an issue with the report that you upload, they will let you know.

@dmdwelle‌ yes, it is! I uploaded a copy of an unofficial transcript and an official copy is on its way! Thanks for the peace of mind :slight_smile: :v:

@SCGirl101‌ Yeah I just uploaded a screenshot of my academic transcript and they said that was good enough so I think you’re good and my officials are on the way too

do they email us when we get decisions or do we have to check usconnect?

Hi, I just got accepted, but I want to change my major to International Relations (Global Business). I heard it is possible to change before entrance if you have already completed the major prereq. So I was wondering how I would go about doing that? Thanks!

Is there a thread for admitted transfer students for Fall 2014?

Thanks @scahopeful‌!!!

Your response was very helpful. And yes, USC did request my spring grades. So the restrictions change probably indicate that they are reviewing my spring grades and I am probably looking at least 2 weeks before I get an decision. This waiting is killing me but oh well

Since tomorrow is the proclaimed deadline, will we receive our decisions by midnight on Connect if we have not been SGR’d? Or will we have to wait until Monday (since snail mail doesn’t deliver on Sundays) to receive our mailed decisions if we still have yet to hear back?

@USCQuestions I’m doing the same thing with trying to switch to Broadcast Journalism in Annenberg, so it may be the same idea. You should give USC a call on monday just to be sure, but I think what you’ll do is send that major school a one paragraph explanation of why you want to transfer into that major and why you’re a good fit for that degree. Then, they will look it over and let you know of their decision within six business days.

@chilambar Thanks so much for telling me! That’s relieving! I’ll probably still call the admissions office and report it just to be safe. Also I haven’t gotten access to the FB group yet either.

@cuo741 Yes there is! <a href=“USC Official Admitted Transfer Fall 2014 - Transfer Students - College Confidential Forums”>USC Official Admitted Transfer Fall 2014 - Transfer Students - College Confidential Forums;

@Trojfan131‌ I will definitely do that. Thank you, hope I will be able to change my major.

the sting of rejection was delivered today. =(

to those that found out today, did you receive an email or it was just on usconnect?

This is for anyone that got a SGR and already heard back!

How long did it take to get a response from USC? Also, for unofficial transcripts we can send a screenshot of our grades correct? Thanks!

My spring grade is available three weeks later. Is that a bad thing because I think there might not be space for transfer applicant in mid of June.

@hopefultrojan9 It took a week for my STARS IAR & restrictions to update and I got the package on Friday. I sent a print pdf of my unofficial transcript

Was anyone accepted and received horrible financial aid? I thought USC provided 100% need based aid, but if so, they calculated my EFC to be VERY high…

@devoney‌

You can use the Fin Aid Calculator here to see if the amount is similar to what you got. If it’s not, then they may have made an error: http://esdweb.esd.usc.edu/npc/default.aspx?__utma=1.127685787.1391574797.1401482214.1401598363.8&__utmb=1.2.10.1401598363&__utmc=1&__utmx=-&__utmz=1.1401598363.8.8.utmcsr</a></p>
