Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@devoney You can also appeal your aid

**"Please have your parent submit documentation from his or her last employer to verify his or her termination or separation, retirement, reduction in wages or disability, or other change in status.

Include the date of the status change, all income received through that date, and any other income to be received (such as severance pay, pension, etc.). Include a copy of his or her pay stub showing year-to-date income."**

Sigh…I feel like a moron for not knowing what they want from me…can somebody please explain?

Neither of my parents are unemployed at the moment or have been fired. Neither of them have had reduced wages.
My mom has a seasonal job where she works for half the year and the other half she receives unemployment benefits. How do I go about submitting this?
I’ve been accepted and all this financial paperwork is making me nervous like they won’t give me any aid :frowning:
I already submitted my commitment deposit too…

Pls help if anybody can

@RoysGoin2College Call USC. But they are probably talking about your mom’s job, if she’s receiving unemployment benefits, then she’s considered unemployed (for half the year anyways).

@RoysGoin2College‌ I think you should just call them on Monday and tell them your situation rather than worry about it too much.

Anyone have tips for getting involved as a transfer?

@transferyo‌ Join clubs, get to know your transfer mates during orientation, utilize USC’s career center and start networking, etc… The possibilities are endless if you utilize everything USC has to offer.

Hi guys,
So i just got accepted to the Spring 2015 USC Marshall !
Just wondering if there are any other spring admits here who can fill me in with more details & information.
thanks guys

Where does it say or can you check to see what year you are entering in as? I can’t seem to find it anywhere…

all this housing stuff is confusing -.- Im thinking about commuting from Riverside. anyone else commuting??at least for the first semester? or maybe I can get away with sleeping in my car in the parking structure, I am dead serious. Does anyone know if id get in trouble for that?? Anything I can do to reduce my debt smh

never mind. I just found a pdf online for parking rules that says no sleeping in car.
-.-

@jjlee88 There’s a few of us on here. Visit the USC admitted transfers thread

@5nonnegotiables I think an SGR is actually a good sign. They’re satisfied with your ECs and just want to see if you can deliver the grades. I’m actually a first year students so I could see why they wanted spring grades. My GPA did improve (3.67 to a 3.73) so I’m still optimistic. As long as your grades improved, I think you have a good shot.

Also, the people who were rejected this week seemed to have not gotten SGRs. I’m fairly confident we should hear back next week.

Looking for roommates at the Lorenzo apartments (girls ) I’m a transfer too and want to live with other transfers like myself
Message me if you want !

Oh, I’m going to miss this thread

Well the good news is that SGR’d people only have a max of 6 MORE WEEKS of waiting… sigh.

@SCGirl101 Yes, I actually sent in my unofficial transcripts because my school takes 2-3 additional weeks to put together the final one. So they said by orientation I have to provide the final ones

Could someone please answer this question?

Where does it say or can you check to see what year you are entering in as? I can’t seem to find it anywhere…

@Magico If you’re talking about what class standing you will be, it will indicate it on your STARS report and STARS IAR. However, most people’s reports have yet to be completed so it won’t have anything just yet

To anyone who was rejected. I know how you feel. I applied last year, and I was rejected also. I reapplied this year with a stronger application and I was surprisingly accepted. If USC is truly your dream mourn your loss, but don’t give up. Fight on!! Fight on!! Maybe the second time around will be better for you as it was for me. It’s still a very attainable dream.

Don’t give up on it!
