Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@LMUtoUSC

Call your Admissions Counselor and ask them. Mine was able to tell me.
http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/findyourcounselor.html

Can everyone just come to the conclusion that STARS IAR filled = acceptance instead of having people wondering what it means? I mean, if you think about it, it’s a very strong trend with no exceptions and this has been looked at for 3 years now. Plus, it is common sense that you would have it filled if you’re accepted.

So, I say there’s no longer a need to ask. For future reference, if your STARS IAR is filled (just like if your Intent to Enroll box appears), you’re accepted.

For those that are wondering how long it takes for USConnect to be updated after you get your Stars Report/Interactive Stars Audit Report has been filled - It took me 2 days as my Stars Report was filled out on June 3rd, and my USConnect page was updated when I checked it just now.

@scahopeful - You’re right. Yet, I think there’s a fear within all of those who do not see the intent to roll box that their acceptance is not certain, even though there may be many signs which indicate otherwise.

I was SGRed and my grades come out June 20th. I am also taking classes at a CC for summer session and I have an internship waiting when I get back home. Is it worth mentioning the classes I will be taking and my internship in additional information when I send in my unofficial grades?

@lmutoUSC Can you view it in under the “Course Transfer” section on your Oasis? You can see the transfer GPA on the STARS report. I don’t know if you mentioned that you have access already, I haven’t been following as much.

I’ve been accepted for two days, and still my Audit and IAR report shows that I’m still a freshman. I made sure that I took courses that fulfill the articulation agreement. Should I just wait for them to look over my transcript?

I got accepted! My STARS IAR was filled & a day later my intent to enroll box appeared & at midnight my acceptance PDF appeared & the next morning I had the packet in the mail. However, I’m in a dilemma. I have to choose between USC Marshall & Econ at Berkeley. Any suggestions? Also how long until I know about my financial aid package?

I am a Spring admit. Anyone know the chance of being bumped to Fall?

For those who were accepted, did you complete the writing and math requirements? Is it impossible to get in without these basic requirements completed?

I got my acceptance letter!

My feelings: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OErZAxLu0c0/UicLV9rYQ8I/AAAAAAAAEZw/NgG0XhKRBSA/s400/aeNYLMO_460sa.gif

I’ll post my stats in the other thread later on! Thank you for all your advice and encouragement guys!

@poppy1 - I did not complete my writing requirement.

@esai23‌ LOL!! Congratulations man. Fight on!

Goodbye USC transfer thread!!! I think it is very highly unlikely that usc admissions will overturn my rejection. My admissions counselor stated that its very rare for usc admissions to overturn an a rejection. I will be attending Boston University in the fall but keeping my hopes up for an appeal :)

Good luck to everyone on this thread. To everyone who has been accepted, I hope you have fun at USC. And to fellow rejects, good luck on your future endeavors and at the schools you end up!!!

How did you guys change your major after admission? I called and they said I couldn’t do it until orientation? That doesn’t sound right to me.

@hepburn95 My goal from the outright was to get into Annenberg. So when I didn’t get in there, I inquired with them if there was anything I could do to transfer in for Broadcast Journalism. They told me that I would have to write a paragraph stating why I wanted to switch to that major and why I would be a good fit for that degree. Eventually, they let me make the switch.

I don’t know what major you are going for, but I would email the school you want to switch into and see if there is anything like that you could do. Good luck!

What’s up my fellow Trojans?!
This year was my 3rd time applying and my STARS audit report was changed to my major and entrance year of 2014 yesterday! So I’m 99% sure I got in. For those of you who were rejected… I completely understand how you’re feeling right now, but don’t give up! I promise you if you work hard the upcoming school year, USC will notice. However, my question is about USC Connect. I have the option that says “intent to enroll” but when I click on it, it says not opened to the public. Do you think it is because they haven’t posted my acceptance PDF yet on the decision? It still says they’re waiting for my spring grades.

@Trojfan131‌ Thanks for the advise! I called Annenberg and set up an appointment with a counselor for Wednesday. Hopefully that will help! Congrats on your switch! I’m trying for PR

Damn, this is taking forever.

For those who have read through prior year threads: Is it reasonable to assume that the longer I wait, the less chance I have of being accepted? I’m not trying to be negative but I do want to start preparing myself emotionally if rejection is probable.

So I see the intent to register, but when i click it, it says that this site is not open to the public. Guess it’s not updated yet? haha it’s a bit funny the way I can see it and stuff.

@dmdwelle‌ In last years thread there were some getting accepted in July! So don’t lose hope! I truly believe it’s a good sign we haven’t been rejected yet. I think they are just waiting to see how many spots open up so they can hand out more acceptances. Sort of like being on an “unofficial wait list”. But that’s just my hopeful theory (: haha

@gabbyrrr I was thinking the same thing
