Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@gabbyrrr‌ I believe that your theory is correct, but that’s partly why I am starting to feel uneasy. i.e. As more time passes, the less likely it is that there will be spots available for us. I’m trying to have a good attitude, but that’s becoming more and more difficult every day.

@dmdwelle‌ That is true, but we have to give time to those waiting on financial aid packages because often those are deal breakers. And trust me, I feel the same way at times. The walk back from the mail box gets more depressing every time. ha

I’m sure you’ve stated this already and I just forgot… so I hope you don’t mind me asking what is your major?

@dmdwelle‌ We’re all in the same boat. I literally keep running to my mailbox every time I hear the USPS truck come by for that huge envelope and check Oasis and USConnect over and over. No mail. No changes. This wait is insane.

@haileydp Tenacity pays off! TRIPLE congrats to you!

@gabbyrrr -

It took me about four years of observing on the threads to figure that one out - you are MUCH faster (and clever-er) than me  I agree with your theory. It also hepls explain one of the truly heartbreaking quirks of USC transfer admissions - some who got an SGR and turned in perfect 4.0 reports have been rejected in the past. I hope it does NOT happen this year. Best of luck to all still waiting, CONGRATS to those who got good news, and to those who got bad news - take a look at haileydp’s posts :)

@gabbyrrr‌ No worries, it’s easy to lose track of all the people on here! I applied for Business Admin, second choice Economics. What about you?

@dmdwelle‌ Same! My second choice is Economics/Mathematics. Ugh I really hope spots can open up for the both of us

@gabbyrrr‌ Nice! I really hope so too! How were your Spring grades?

@dmdwelle‌ 3.8 with 17 units. Actually brought my cum gpa up a tiny bit. Yours?

3.75 with 16 units. I got a B in Calc which worries me. :-/

I don’t think you should worry, I’ve seen others get accepted with a C in calc!

Just got my acceptance packet. Now it all hinges on financial aid. Dun-Dun-Duuuun!

To those who are still waiting the very best of luck, may you all be accepted. And also, thanks to everyone on this forum, you have all been insightful and supportive. Much success in all of your endeavors.

@VivaLaVida14 - Yay, congratz! Viva la Vida; Viva la USC!

How long did it take you guys to receive a decision after sending in your spring grades? I live in Southern California and I sent my grades in on Monday, but I still have not heard back yet.

I AM OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED TO USC!!!

I can’t believe I was accepted to the University of Southern California for this Fall 2014!!! I have been envisioning and dreaming about this moment ever since I was in 7th grade. It was a struggle and battle to get here but I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way. For those who got rejected, keep on trying because it might just be that it wasn’t the right time for you to go or maybe you just have to fight on a little harder and prove yourself through an appeal letter. Throughout this whole process I have learned that patience is a virtue. Waiting to hear back from SC for a decision caused me many sleepless nights, but it was worth it. For those still waiting, all I can say is each day of waiting gets harder and harder, but you can do this! Find ways to occupy your time so that you aren’t anxious about your admission decision, and keep believing your SC worthy. This is more than dream come true and I can’t wait to actually be a Trojan for life!!!

By the way here is how I found out:

June 3rd 11:10 am (east coast time): Restrictions updated

June 4th 3:22 am (east coast time): Stars Report Filled out (I literally woke up life 30 minutes after it updated)

June 5th early in the morning: Application Status Check said Admissions Officers made and mailed a decision and that I should check back soon to see PDF

June 5th Afternoon: Intent to Enroll and Transfer Facebook page popped up on my connect (I couldn’t open intent to enroll tho)

June 6th around 3 am: PDF Acceptance Letter was available to see

June 6th around 5 pm: I got my " Welcome to the Trojan Family" Acceptance package wohooo!  :)

hope this helps for those still waiting

@esai23‌ Thanks! Lol I couldn’t have said it better myself. What’s your major btw?

@AirUpThere95‌ It all took just over a week. I uploaded transcripts last Wednesday and this Wednesday there were updates on OASIS and USC Connect. Yesterday morning IAR was filled out and today I got the packet. Best of luck!

@VivaLaVida14‌ - I applied as a Business Admin major and I’m hoping to double major in Accounting as well.

@esai23‌ Wow! USC really IS the perfect fit for you just based on that alone. You will without a doubt thrive. Fight on! :)>-

@juroopiloo I have no idea. They sent me a “conditions of admissions” though, saying that I was accepted, but I could be rescinded if I don’t fulfill some spring requirements. (But I did meet those requirements in the end), so I’m in!

To everyone else: I know the wait must suck. You should try doing something to get your mind off it! College acceptance is a crapshoot, and where you apply says more about you as a person than actual acceptances do.

Got the acceptance PDF today! @esai23 are you entering as a sophomore?

One question. On my acceptance pdf, it displays my school address not my home address. Is this the same address they send the packet?
