Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

So I was just looking at the articulation agreement between my school and USC, and I realized I’m missing one of the required classes in Part I, Category V (Arts and Letters). Crap. I’m trying to get in as a junior too. I have all the other requirements covered, but I had to drop the class because my school cancelled it because not enough people enrolled in it. No W or anything because the school cancelled it on their own accord.

They are offering the class during summer though. Should I enroll in it and send in my transcript showing I am taking it right now or is it okay to be missing just one requirement?

@spottedgiraffes‌ You do not need to have the USC GE (Categories I through VI) complete before you transfer to USC, they just recommend taking as many as you can before you transfer so that you can focus on your upper division coursework at USC. The number of transferable units you have completed overall will determine whether you enter as a sophomore or junior.

If I have a “W” on my transcript from first semester (the teacher failed everyone on the first test) and then I retook the course the next semester and received an A how do they look at this?

I did not apply for Marshall. I applied for Dornsife.

P.S I am transferring from a four year private as a rising sophomore

I was originally a business and politcal science major at my school but decided to only apply for politcal science at SC

When you say ‘USC’, please specify. If you live in the South, University of South Carolina is USC. If you live on the coast, you’re referring to University of Southern California. To avoid the confusion, just clarify to help people better evaluate things for you.

Uh… since this thread is specific to the University of Southern California, I think it is fairly safe to assume that when people here type USC, they mean University of Southern California…

Southern California

This post series was my LAUGH for the day!!! Excellent restraint in response, @dmdwelle !

I know that everyone’s questions were probably answered at some point in this thread, but if the interactive report is blank does that mean nothing or is it a glitch?

So sorry but I can’t read through 360 pages of forum posts.

@‌ chemtransfer2014. Try looking at it through safari

“If one more person asks why a particular class showed up in their course cart, my face will turn bright red and steam will start blowing out of my ears, cartoon style” - @dmdwelle‌ =D> hahaha

@hopefulsc‌ Well, if you received a SGR the “W” must not have been a deal breaker for them. Considering they have already looked passed it I wouldn’t worry as long as you did not also receive a W in the spring.

Where is everyone trying to transfer from?

Mailed in my unofficial transcript today! The wait begins…

@clemtransfer2014‌ What did you ask the admissions counselor when you called? Did you just say when will my decision be ready? I want to call and see when I will hear back but not sure what to say

@USCTransfer28
My transcript was received around the first week of june. I e-mailed my counselor to ask if it was typical that required documents still said “Clemson Univ Transcript” although it had been clearly there for over a week (I tracked the package). He said my decision will be ready by the end of next week.
Hopefully, yours was sent around the same time and should be coming shortly!

I have a quick question about my spring transcripts in case anyone is able to answer. Would USC look down on my transcripts if it shows that I’m registered for courses in Fall 2014? I’m really hoping to get accepted, but I want a back-up plan in case I don’t. Does anyone have any info about this?
