@cidzor rodioneng is correct, just do it ASAP. Don’t wait.

@rodioneng @dmdwelle

Thanks for the email address and the advice. The problem is that I’m worried about the financial aid, and I’m waiting for them to provide an offer before I submit my intent.

@cidzor Yikes, didn’t realize that your aid package hadn’t come through yet. You might call the financial aid office on Monday to check on the status of your offer, if you haven’t already.

@iloveasianguys so since my restrictions updated yesterday, July 19th at 3:39pm and my Stars report still shows my error message, is it safe to say I’ve probably been rejected? Or is it possible it could take longer because its the weekend? Ive seen most people say their stars fills out in the morning the next day after restrictions updates.

Anyone else know anything that could help? Thanks guys.

I got admitted for the Spring and was wondering what all of you Spring admits were doing about housing? If any female Spring admits are looking for roommates please contact me

@transferusc14 it is true tht it is updated the next day. It can be true since its d weekend but idk if they update on the weekends. Did u check ur aid if it asks for more info ur good. Did u chck ur connect to see if there is a pdf? Gl

Can anyone pls help me on my fa question i postef it a short while ago thx

@iloveasianguys thanks for responding! Where do I check for financial aid update? USConnect? When i checked a couple days ago it said I was missing signatures so I don’t know if anything would change because it hasn’t been properly and fully processed yet. I’m hoping I haven’t seen an update because it’s the weekend. Have you ever seen someone who has or hasn’t had their stars report fill out on the weekend? I could not figure that out by reading through old posts.

@transferusc14 on USConnect. What do you mean missing sig? Hmm…I know, I’m not sure if it’s this year but I saw it on the last 2 years, that there were updates on the weekend. Check again on aid and if anything with “ability to benefit” appears…you should be good. gl

Hey guys how’s it going? So I was accepted for the 2014 fall semester on tuesday last week, and I actually didn’t submit my intent to enroll until friday evening. I’m guessing the transaction wasn’t processed until today, because I just got the email for orientation. When I tried to register for orientation there were no more dates to sign up for. Do you guys know if there is a separate orientation for late acceptances? I plan on calling tomorrow about this issue. I know I’m not the only one having this issue, I’m just worried I won’t be able to attend orientation. @dmdwelle @rodioneng @cidzor @iloveasianguys

@jayboy congrats! and calling would be the best option right now. I didn’t get in for fall so the best bet (I’m guessing here) is calling them. What I know is the last day to sign up is the 15th online but dmdwelle said in a post a while ago that he got a late acceptance and I think he called them? And I don’t know the status but I am guessing/assuming that it’s already full but I hope not so you can attend. good luck!!

@jayboy I believe I processed mine on Friday as well (waiver) and I was able to get my login stuff today to make a reservation for orientation this Friday.

@jayboy Congrats on your acceptance! I got my email tonight and was able to sign up for fridays orientation around 6pm. They do mention that space is limited. There’s also a waitlist you can put yourself onto. Call, email them.

What are you guys doing for housing?

Hey guys, got a question. What happens in New Student orientation? Will I be missing much if I didn’t go? I am a transfer student and I missed my registered orientation session for USC because I was traveling abroad. It looks like there will be no available orientation make up session I can attend so I set up an appointment with an adviser and the orientation office is going to send me the New student check up list. Please can someone answer these questions? I’ve been looking up what happens in the USC orientations but I haven’t found anything substantial. I’d be very happy if someone would redirect me to a page that will help.

Now I feel like they postponed the transfer application due date due to the fact that not a lot of people applied this year. Because it seems like the rejections this year are way less than past years.

@duoswords

I just called them, they can get you into the international students session if you ask.

Yea if there’s no more space left for thr transfer orientation this Friday, you can email them and ask them to be added on to the international student orientation, which is on August 15

It’s either that or you request the materials package and meet up with your counselor

@cidzor

I just called them too but they won’t let me in. I got my acceptance quite a while ago and I’m not an international student so they won’t let me take it. Is there any other way to learn about what they say in orientation?

@finefreshfierce How can you say that there are way less rejections this year? I think it’s important to realize that most people do not post their rejections on College Confidential.

It would be pretty incredible if there were so few transfer applications this year that they were able to accept nearly all of them. That is, statistically speaking, highly improbable, especially since the Freshman applications for 2014 hit a record high.

I’m currently planning on applying as sophomore transfer next year, this thread has really helped me out a lot!
I’m a freshman at UCR with Mechanical Engineering as my major, it’s probably going to be a tough year but I believe I’ll make it.
quick questions though, how important it is for me to fulfill as much GE as possible prior to transfer? Diversity recommendation? what about the additional coursework? since UCR does not recommend M.E. students to take chemistry on their first year.
sorry for all the questions, I’m very paranoid about transfer
