@hepburn95 thanks for the response. Do you know what GPA they specifically ask you to maintain? I have a 3.67 now and I was expecting a 3.8 (unfortunately my calc teacher screwed me over and I ended up getting a B+). I just hope they ask for grades because I’m sure I can pump up my GPA. I’m also applying for Marshall if that helps.

@bobo79 - Which school are you transferring from?

@esai23 @bobo79 I have heard of some people that have to keep a 3.0 and some that have to keep a 3.5, so I would say it varies from person to person. It probably depends on what GPA you’re applying with, what school you’re applying to, and also if you’re a sophomore or junior transfer.

@esai23 Fordham University (Business School)

I’m not too sure what this means, but the 6-year graduation rate for USC for the fall 2005 class was 90%!
<a href=“Facts and Figures - About USC”>http://about.usc.edu/facts/

Does that mean that it took 6 years for 90% of the undergrads to graduate from USC?

EDIT: Never mind, I learnt that it means that 90% of the undergrads graduated within 6 years.

Also, about the transfer deadline extension, would it be fair to say more less-qualified applicants apply after the initial deadline has passed?

@cidzor I wouldn’t say less qualified but certainly more hesitant. Most people who are set on transferring have probably submitted their apps at least a month or two before the deadline.

@bobo79 - I don’t think so lol. I completed mine on January 31st - a day before the original deadline, and lots of people completed their common apps on the deadline as well as right before it.

@cidzor - That’s a tough question to answer. Who knows, it might have also got the people applying to ivy leagues to apply thinking - Let me use USC as a back up school.

@bobo79 I worked on mine since August and finished it like 3 days before the due date. I just wanted it to be absolutely perfect before I submitted it. And since they are extending the deadline, I’m gonna go on a limb and say that our chances (those who applied before the deadline) are slightly higher for getting in.

I doubt anyone who didn’t submit it on time was as qualified as other applicants. If there were less applicants this time around, then this could just be USC’s way of admitting their normal amount of transfers without increasing their acceptance rate.

@scahopeful Although I’d like to believe people who turned their apps before the first deadline has priority, I don’t think they’re gonna give us any special treatment.

Guys, I have a question about CSS.

If I already filed a FAFSA, is there any way I can transfer over that information to my CSS profile???

And how complicated is the CSS? I have not started yet…

@TonyStark93 you can’t transfer it over. the CSS is basically the same thing but a lot longer than the FAFSA.

Okay so i have a problem…

I got accepted to Cal Poly SLO & i don’t wanna place all my bets on USC…
What do i do? Do i accept Cal Poly’s admission? What happens if i do & USC accepts me?

@RoysGoin2College You already heard from SLO? I thought they didn’t send decisions until April.
Is their decision binding or nonbinding? And how much is the deposit? And when do you need to accept by?

I gotta decline or accept by May 1st
Idk the deposit, the Cal Poly portal just has an accept or decline selection
What does binding/nonbinding mean?

@RoysGoin2College Binding means that if you accept you HAVE to go there, non binding means you can withdraw but you lose your deposit. Did you do an early decision application?

@hepburn95

nope i did RD cuz i’m a transfer…i’m sooo scared
idk what to do!

How is everyone doing with the USC GE requirements? I was missing 3 prior to entering this semester, but complete them by the end of the semester. Is that bad? How important do you think completing the GE reqs are?

@RoysGoin2College If you did RD it’s not likely that it is binding, but I would call and ask. If it’s not, submit the deposit (shouldn’t be more than a couple hundred) a week or two before their deadline. You might hear back from USC by then, they start sending out decisions in late April. You could send it now to secure housing or whatever, but then you run a greater risk of not getting it back.

@andy1|17 They are important, but they want them by the time you get to USC, not by the time you apply, so you should be fine.

Guys, I just got my winter grades.

Can I still send in my transcripts right now? or is it too late?
