@TonyStark93 Send them, definitely.

Is anyone getting this notification when they click on their application status check box on USConnect?
“We are unable to locate your record in this service database, please confirm your USCID is valid (it should contain 10 numeric digits) in the My Profile tab of USConnect. If this problem persists, please contact us ). Error code:ID2”

Hey guys I can’t wait any longer to hear back from USC! I’m sure you all feel the same way as well…

I was hoping you guys can give me some feedback on my profile and tell me if my chances look good or not? FREAKING OUT!

Currently in Community College (in Southern California)
Freshman
Will have 30 units by the end of Spring 2014
GPA: 4.0

Recommendation letters: 3

Extra Circular:
Maxed out on the application

Essays: I think really good haha

Went to the USC summer program and took a class and earned 3 units

Quick takes–perfecto!

@gctosc I think you’ll get in. Most transfers are from Cali CC.

On another note, did you guys all put the maximum number of recommendations on your apps. My contact in the admissions office said this was really not necessary for the school, only required for the commonapp. This is for students that have applied previously too.

@bobo79 I just sent 3 because I had them for other schools anyway, so I figured why not?

@seilburt I don’t have that notification

@cidzor

I’m not saying that. I’m saying that people who submitted before the deadline extension are likely to have better overall applications seeing as they made it a priority. vs. those who didn’t get it in before the extension deadline, probably rushed to finish it, and in turn did not adequately complete the application.

Or there could be an issue of confidence where the people who got it in on time were confident in their chances (due to higher GPAs, well written essays, etc.) then those who weren’t.

If someone didn’t have their application in before the deadline, I would suspect that they weren’t planning on doing it anyway either because they doubted their chances for a good reason, or they didn’t want it that bad in the first place. That’s all I’m saying.

Does anyone know the stats for admitted transfers from 4 year universities outside of California?

Are any of your high school transcripts still pending? I sent mine via mail almost 2 weeks ago and it hasn’t showed up on USConnect yet. Is it going to affect my chances?

@scahopeful the stats for admitted transfers outside of California is 23%

@Spiffyb0i It won’t negatively effect you as long as they got them there on time, processing is their issue to handle not yours. They aren’t super strict about supplement deadlines but it’s in your best interest to get them there ASAP because then they won’t delay reviewing your application. It took 3-4 weeks for mine to show up on Connect, don’t sweat it! :)

@Spiffyb0i

I sent in my stuff about 3 weeks before they confirmed it received on USConnect.

Can someone give me the address for sending our transcripts?

@hepburn95 @cidzor Alright cool thanks! It’s been about 2 weeks since I mailed in my high school transcript. Out of curiosity, did any of you guys pick up your transcript from your school and mail them yourself? What I did was I picked up the transcript in a sealed envelope, filled out the info, and dropped it off in the mailbox of a post office, but I’m not certain if that’s going to delay it even more.

@Spiffyb0i

Don’t worry I did exactly the same, I sent mine 3 weeks ago but USConnect was still missing them, anyways I called Monday and the guy let me know that they have them, its just the system that has not been updated.
Just give them a call it should not take too much time out of your day, you know to get a little more peace of mind. I have given these guys so many calls they prob already got my number saved.

Does anyone know anything about the correlation between your EFC and how much you will be required to pay? I know if your EFC is “10” that doesn’t necessarily mean you are required to pay “10.” Just looking for some guidance here, thanks!

@hepburn - Last year, when I was accepted into Emory, the actual amount I was asked to pay in solid cash (By solid cash I mean with loans already taken into account) was approx. $4000 less than my EFC.

After taking into account the loans I was given from Emory, I’d say the total amount I was asked to pay was approx. $2000 less than my EFC.

That’s what happened to me, but I guess it really depends from student to student and the student’s circumstances.

@esai23 Thanks for the reply!

@hepburn95 - Yeah, no problem!

By the way, when will USC start sending acceptance letters for transfer students? I’d like to send in recommendation letters and my professors said that they can give them to me by March 7th, next Friday.

Will the recommendation letters still be considered even though they would be, at that point, 2.5 weeks late?

@esai23 I would still send them, it’s worth a shot. I think the earliest people start hearing is late April. Typically dornsife people hear first.
