Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@hepburn95 - Thanks! I’ve heard that it takes Marshall (which is where I’m applying to) longer to make a decision.

I know acceptances typically start to roll out the last week of April. Rejections are sent out the last week of May.

@esai23 I have heard the same, sorry about your longer wait! I’m sure it will be worth it though!
@seilburt Do they all come out the last week in April (roughly) or do they just start sending them out then?

@hepburn95 acceptances come out everyday between the last week of April through the second to last week of May. In some cases, an SGR delays a decision until mid June-mid July.

So yes, decisions start coming out last week of April. That’s the trend I’ve observed. I know from experience that admissions waits until the last week before June 1st to send rejections. @hepburn95

well if admissions come out late april that’s a huge relief…i wouldn’t have to accept other college’s admission offers
I’m confident i’ll get in!

Has anyone heard from anywhere else?

do we need to send in mid semester reports?

@hopefultrojan9 you don’t need to send in mid-year reports. They don’t require it. Admission will contact you if they need more information. In that case, for transfers it typically comes in the form of an SGR.

Does anyone know if there is a glitch in the Financial Aid status check? It keeps saying that they require documents that I’ve already sent in.

@scahopeful They probably just didn’t process yet?

Is the CSS deadline until midnight of tonight?

@TonyStark93

Its until March 3rd, don’t wait, do it today.

@fdominguez

Thanks for the heads up!

Has anyone else’s parents not yet completed their 2013 tax returns? The schools are asking for a copy and I don’t have them yet. I am just going to send them ASAP but I hate that it’s going to delay the process!

@hepburn95 I don’t know if this helps, but they don’t require the entire tax return, only certain lines of it. You imput these certain figures/yes or no answers through USConnect, so you don’t have to send everything in. If your parents are able to contact whoever does your taxes and just get those certain lines, you should be able to get the info through to USC on time.

But yea, considering that they aren’t normally due until April, it does suck to have to have all the figures done this early.

Hey guys, I just wanted to check -

I completed and submitted my CSS Profile and FAFSA today. The “tax return” information isn’t required until they notify you, right?

4th section here: http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/applying_receiving/undergraduates1/transfers.html</a></p>

I have a quick question. I just realized that I submitted my Common App with a minor typo.

To give you a sense of what the typo was, I wrote “1.000” instead of “1,000.”
Do you think this will hurt my chances? Do you think they’ll care? Let me know!! I’m freaking out…

@esai23

On my USConnect it would say in order to be complete they still needed :
Expense Declaration Form - Parent
Tax Info or Non-Filing Statement Form, Student
Tax Information Form, Federal 2013 - Parents

Otherwise it would still say I was missing items, I would rather be safe than sorry

@esai23 You could check in your USConnect required documents for the Financial Aid portion, but I believe they want you to send in tax information ASAP. I think the notification part is referring to if they need anything additional to that info. For example, my mother was able to submit her tax info (at least the lines they required) online, and USC notified us that we needed to additionally send in two documents from the tax info.

@greengecko Hahaha don’t worry about it, that is absolutely nothing to panic about. I’m sure they’ll know exactly what you meant.
