Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

Less than a month of waiting, guys! We can do this!

@hepburn95 I had emailed USConnect with a problem I was having when I would click application status and it would say application ID not found. They replied with that email.

@tamoorc Good to know, thanks!

What do they specifically mean when they say “application sent in before the deadline”? Does that mean everything had to be postmarked by that date? Also, it’s interesting that they just sent that email to you, and that other people haven’t gotten it.

@MDog795 “I had emailed USConnect with a problem I was having when I would click application status and it would say application ID not found. They replied with that email.”

Wow. I’m surprised they are going to send out decisions so early. My brother who is applying for first year admission is receiving his decision at the end of March.

Isn’t that for first years? They might think you as freshman i guess…

I’m pretty sure that they thought him as prospective freshman. Regular decision for freshman releases by April 1.

^^^ Agreed

Wait, so is this a false alarm? Are decisions coming out or not coming out by April 1st, for transfers? (Assuming you turned it in before Feb 1st)?

@greengecko There is no way they are sending out decisions that early. I would so love if they did, but no way are our decisions being sent out at the same time as Freshman applicants. We’re likely just gonna have to wait until at least the end of April

USC Admission ‏@USCAdmission Mar 4
Transfer applicants will receive an admission decision or a request for spring grades by June 3rd.
From USC’s twitter. They probably thought @tamoorc was a freshmen applicant because freshmen admissions are sent out by April 1st.

@scahopeful The Common App was redone this year and a bunch of stuff changed, a lot of people have had trouble with the new version plus it’s been glitchy for some.

Brief moment of excitement and then it all just died lol. I expect this thread to not go this fast for awhile.

I’m absolutely terrified. I’ve been coming to terms with the possibility of not so desirable outcomes for awhile now though. Thinking about getting in is slowly eating (in the words of Stewart Gilligan Griffin) “mah baaaahhdy”

Does anyone have any plans to keep themselves from going crazy?

@hepburn95 focusing on school and my EC’s really. Even though I want to get into USC more than anyone cane imagine, I still want to strive for excellence here (just finished midterms). And I care a lot about things I do outside of class (running my organization, running my clubs, running in general LOL, and free writing) so that also keeps me busy.

I do think about it a lot but not to the point that it gets in the way of my life.

@hepburn95

I think worrying is a waste of time. I mean, I’ve applied and now its out of my hands, so what can I do? So, I’m just going to keep myself busy and have fun. I’ve got midterms coming up, then spring break, I’m looking for summer jobs and internships, going to the gym, and running, doing my clubs and planning what to wear to cochella. I write down my schedule daily and a todo list, so I keep myself busy, and don’t really have the time to worry. That’s about it . Good luck to everyone!!!

@5nonnegotiables I want to go to Coachella :smiley:

But yeah focusing on other things that are equally as important to you as getting in is VERY helpful. I can’t afford to be worried ALL the time. I have children to mentor, they can’t see me like that lol!

Good points, all! I’m not really worried, I just don’t like waiting! Not just for USC but for every school I applied to. I am just focusing on getting a 4.0, working, and going to the gym. I am going on a cruise over spring break in 2 weeks and to New York for an MUN conference in April! Lots of things to stay busy!

@5nonnegotiables I’m a list maker and a schedule keeper too :slight_smile:

Gosh, it feels like the day we get a decision is incredibly far away, even if it is just two months. Then again, that’s also how I feel about the day this (insert word) snow is gone…
