Official USC 2014 Transfer Thread

@Trojfan131, you’re scaring me! What makes you say that already?

@greengecko Hehehe my sincere apologies. I was just thinking that if they started reviewing applications one to two weeks ago, who knows? They may have gone through some of ours…

@Trojfan131 What makes you think they’ve already started reviewing our apps? My USC Connect isn’t telling me anything so I’m just curious.

@scahopeful The AdCom goes straight into reviewing transfer apps once they finish first year apps. In other words, transfer apps are definitely under review right now.

I was always under the impression that they always took a week off between the 2 (unless the major was a Dec. 1st major–in that case it would be reviewed w/freshmen). Wow. This all happened rather quickly.

@scahopeful They don’t have the time; they’re on a deadline.

I went to my application status check and there’s a link which says, “Click here to submit mid-year grades online.” That’s not the SGR, is it?

^^Nope. Everyone has that link.

Indeed. To go along with what @sielburt has said, here is a twitter post they have made, courtesy of @USCAdmission:

@LeeYunze Application review for transfers has been in process. Make sure to have all your required docs submitted! http://www.usc.edu/USConnect</a>

I wish the USC admission twitter feed posted something relevant to reviewing transfer applications

Thank you scahopeful. Also, does that link work for everyone? When I click it, a pop up opens with USC’s header in the background but nothing else loads…

@esai23 I’m having the same issue :/

Transfer apps should be getting looked at already. About two days after first year notices were sent out my status on usconnect changed from weeks of saying none under required docs to a new message asking to resend one of my transcripts.

And to @esai23 I wouldn’t worry to much, can’t control others opinions. People look at me crazy when I tell them I applied to Berkeley and LA too with no intention of going to either even if accepted (which is likely to happen) just to see if i could get in. Already got accepted at UCSB which is my actual number 2 and just waiting on SC which is my number 1 so I can finally decide.

If all else fails I can do my BA at SB and MA at SC. Would love to go to SC for BA but every day it’s getting harder to pass up the beach life even if I’d only be at SB 2 years.

Everything’s the same on my Connect. I guess now I just wait.

I have an analysis due next week. Maybe I’ll work on that?

Hey guys, so I’m on the quarter system and if I decided to take different courses than the ones I listed on Common App for the Spring Quarter, would I need to contact USC admissions to let them know of an update of my schedule? Thanks.

@Spiffyb0i Yup! Give them a call!

Hang tight, guys. I know this is a stressful time period. I spoke with the assistant dean of admissions for my program, just to remind her not to overlook transfer students because, hey, I was one. Good luck. Fight on.

Hey, it’s @RandomNewGuy! How is your experience so far at 'SC?

Pretty awesome. I’ve made a lot of connections. This semester has been tough, but it looks like I will be working at USC over the summer (paid!) so it will all be worth it. Looking forward to moving into the new building too.

@georgebailey those are exactly my thoughts. For me, i’d rather have the conditional admittance than a SGR.

@bballprofessor23 I just wrote a memo in word, saved it as a PDF, and uploaded it as “additional info” in USconnect. I had to submit a transcript from the military education system that I did not know was actually required since it was not a military academy.
