@CBS111 They probably want you to take their classes for GE’s. I saw it in last years thread a bunch of times, and this is the answer on the site.

“ONLY electives and lower-division major/minor coursework and the University Diversity requirement may be taken away from USC after matriculation, and ONLY during the summer term. Transfer students following the transitional GE program may additionally transfer GE and Writing courses, but students following current GE may not.”

Thanks. I looked into it just now and it seems I would be able to take them because it says the summer before matriculation, which would be summer 2014. I guess when the time comes I’ll have to figure it out. Like I said, I don’t want to be at USC doing a GenEds lol.

@CSB111 : @xsayax is correct BUT according to USC FAQ:

“ONLY electives and lower-division major/minor coursework and the University Diversity requirement may be taken away from USC after matriculation, and ONLY during the summer term. Transfer students following the transitional GE program may additionally transfer GE and Writing courses, but students following current GE may not.”

Transfer students CAN transfer GEs taken in the summer but after they are accepted, they would need a pre-approval to transfer coursework to USC from a California Community College. Additionally, the GE taken during the summer would not be included in the application process.

@karlos yes, you are right. It can take them a week or two to process the transcript. But if you have the check box in required documents that says “Transcripts: ……” and you want that to disappear, upload the unofficial transcript.

Got my acceptance into UT Austin today!!! I wish USC could send out SGR or decisions before the end of the month. Also does anyone know if Dornsife makes decisions before the other colleges?

I received an email from AO last week asking me to submit an explanation about what I was doing when I was not enrolled in class. They said according to my academic history, I had time periods that I was not enrolled in classes.
This makes me nervous because I never took a gap/leave during school years. I emailed them right away saying there might be some mistakes but haven’t got anything back yet.

Ok everyone so here is an update: My son’s financial aid package was just confirmed this morning. USC is offering a grant iao $25,677. I have mixed feelings about this. First, I am thankful for any aid he receives. But I guess I was expecting some kind of scholarship for him? It was just the opposite at Biola. We did not qualify for any grants but he received a The Presidents scholarship there. Either way it is aid and it is definitely needed. SO, the summary is that after all is said and done looks like student loans iao around $15,000 to pay the difference. At Biola our difference was about $10k which we paid in payment plan.

Thanks @lkm291! I am so excited for him! He is so casual about everything…lol. At least the waiting is over and now we can stress less. I did not want to pay the deposit until I saw the fin aid package. :))

Hmm… It seems that you do everything for your son. Checking admission, fin aid, writing posts on his behalf. I mean, also planning on moving in with him at sc and taking his classes for him? Let the kid breathe man.

wow that was an unnecessary and mean comment Travel7Seas. Was there really a point?

I love supportive parents especially supportive parents who are probably actually paying the tuition bill. [= Congrats on your son getting into USC. He will love it!

I am in class, working, doing homework, going to the gym, hanging out with my friends, going to cochella, and not stressing about the transfer decisions. Honestly …my mom also checks for me which is totally cool, because the decision will come either way. So i can just focus on today and enjoying myself and doing well in my classes, which already stress me out. Why would I want more? I’ve done all I could do to get in and now I just have to keep my grades up. No extra stress for me and I’m happy she will do that for me so I can just enjoy finishing my sophomore year without the added pressure, and also have fun. Something to think about.
