Your son & I have pretty similar stats…i’m crossing my fingers :)>-

Post the picture on here @RoysGoin2College

@ymjones777 @RoysGoin2College Nice! Exciting to hear they’ve begun to send out acceptances, albeit to the strongest candidates, but fair enough!
@ymjones777 after careful research it looks like Biola has concrete written agreements with USC regarding the 3/2 major he is in, very nice! Congratulations to your son, well deserved!

How heavily (or not) do you think GPA is looked at for a transfer applicant to School of Cinematic Arts?

Maybe I was not paying close attention to it before, but when i clicked on App Status Check there was a link for me to submit mid-year grades. Did any of you guys do this? When I clicked on it, I was sent to a page that did not have any instructions. It was blank :/

Its not needed. Everyone has it but they are not required.

@yomaxe I think you’re being a bit too anxious haha. The same thing happens for me, I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Ok cool! Thanks @jr20 and @spiffyb
And yeah, I am a little anxious because its been so long haha

I applied to Marshall for the heck of it, but now I’m really considering going if I am accepted because I like the ability to double major fairly easily (I really would like to double in Business/BME).

I have As in all the Marshall prereqs (Both accounting, Calc 1, both econs, English). I just don’t have the gen eds done, but I can take them over the summer if needed. I focused on IGETC which isn’t very similar.

Since everyone’s appeal document is gone, I think it’s safe to assume that it doesn’t mean anything.

I’m starting to get a bit anxious to hear back (semester’s winding down, haven’t had any major events to do). I went on a movie binge last weekend. I watched about 15 short films, 4 foreign films, 1 tentpole film, 1 animated film, and about 4 indies that aren’t foreign.

Off topic: My friends were upset that I wanted to watch short and foreign films because one of them didn’t have subtitles and one of them was a silent film LOL.

I’m also kind of upset because the B-School at my school changed their requirements and I ended up taking courses that I didn’t need. I mean I’m happy I know the info now but that scholarship money could have been used for something I actually need/like.

I wonder if USC factors in the degree requirements of my current major to see if I’m on par with obtaining a degree no matter where I attend. << I have no clue what I meant by that but it made sense in my head.

“How heavily (or not) do you think GPA is looked at for a transfer applicant to School of Cinematic Arts?”
greengecko, I know that freshman applications are reviewed by the School of Cinematic Arts and they give a thumbs up or a thumbs down to admissions. If it is a thumbs down the student might still be accepted into their second choice major. It is probably the same for transfer students. My guess is that if Cinematic Arts really wants you, your GPA will not be as important but you might have to meet a minimum requirement. I bet there is a lot of wiggle room there.

Did I get WGR? I received an email this morning.

I applied to Sol Price and transferring from a 4 year college using the quarter system.

can anyone give me insight or am i reading too much into this… my parent got an email to correct last year’s tax info and to do it right away but i called usc and they said they don’t even need the correction. does that mean that they are not interested in me since they don’t need the information/denial or does it mean that based on my financial aid info that they don’t need it to like make the decision? i am taking this thing as a denial/not interested in me since they did not ask for it/need more financial aid info bc i read somewhere that if they ask for more financial aid info it’s a good sign…please help! thanks!!!

@karlos i think so. they need ur grades ^^

I am taking one class at irvine valley college this spring semester and taking three other classes at saddleback college at the same time. I got an email that says

" We have recently checked your application file and wanted you to know some items are still missing. We have listed these items below:

academic transcripts, including coursework from the most recent semester as indicated below:
Irvine Valley College (Full transcript)
We encourage you to submit them as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or problems, please contact us, and we will be happy to assist you personally. We will send no further requests for these items.

You can view the status of your application online at USConnect.usc.edu. Simply log in with the e-mail address you used when you submitted your application, select “Admission,” then, “Application Status Check.”

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Is this a SGR? They did not ask my for my saddleback transcript, just the irvine valley college one. I already mailed my saddleback transcript in February so I am assuming they just need my transcripts from all the colleges i attended. Even though this is my first time taking a class a Irvine Valley College. Therefore, I do not have a transcript for Irvine valley College until this semester is over.

Admissions =/= fin aid

@ssourialle Maybe you should call and ask?

@CBS111 If you get accepted, you can’t take any GE classes over the summer, you can still take non-GE classes for credit thogh

@xsayax
You can’t take them at community college even if they articulate? Why is that?

@ssourialle No that is not an SGR, they just can see that you are/have attended Irvine Valley College whether you indicated it on your commonapp or from the Student Clearinghouse records that USC looks at. I have learned that you should send them an official transcript from Irvine Valley College (Even if you have taken only one class and it is still in progress) and in the mean time upload an unofficial copy of the transcript through commonapp in order to streamline the admission process in your case. I had a similar situation as you.

@Karlos no, that is not an SGR. USC is just asking for transcripts that are missing. Are you on a semester system? Did you complete a winter session and not send in your transcripts from that term yet? I ask because some students thought that Winter Session courses would be included in the Spring Grades but it is totally a separate term. As I have said before, USC knows all the schools you’ve ever attended, standing at the school, Start/End date of the term that was enrolled in etc. etc. all from Student Clearinghouse records, they just don’t have your grades unless you submit them.

@HopeForMarshall no i am on the quarter system, and i sent them my most updated transcript (winter 2014) a couple days ago. I just received this email this morning. I guess they still have to process my transcript and haven’t update my USConnect yet.
