Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@juniorwhooper101 Congrats! probably such a relief! what was your major?

Transfer students should get their package within 7 days of acceptance. I called…I should get mine next week.

@applenana Congrats! what was your major and GPA?

Anyone know when they will most likely send out decisions for SCA? The wait is terrrrrrrible and i know in past years theyve been sent out close to last

@juniorwhooper101 just a parent tax thing, I think it’s just part of the standard documents

I am transferring from a four-year college with a 3.93 GPA. Also, does anyone know how much financial aid is usually offered to applicants with both parents making 75k, together, annually? I think USC will be too expensive for me.

If you guys have Marcos Garcia as a counselor, he most definitely is sending out the decisions close to June, from what he told me

Applying to Marshall from UCSD, 3.89 GPA without winter and spring grades factored in. Just got a SGR request shown on youSC sigh

@summertime123 Oh, and my major was PoliSci. Entering as PPD.

Can anyone give me an estimate of how much aid I would receive if my parents make a total of 75k per year? So nervous.

@Msmclagirl did you talk to him?? Every time I call no one answers, so I guess another month of waiting! Do you know if he sent out SGRs? Or will those be closer to June too? Because I haven’t gotten one yet and I’m a little freaked out

@ForeverGymnast21 @Msmclagirl I have Marcos Garcia as well and I just got an SGR today for Marshall. Too bad I’m on a quarter system school so my Spring grades won’t be available until mid-late June… Guess I’ll be going somewhere else.

Hey guys! If we got an SGR, does that mean (considering we’re admitted) we would be accepted for the spring semester rather than fall? Or is it likely we’ll still get a spot for the fall semester? My CC ends in 2 weeks so I’ll have my spring grades submitted soon; however, I really hope there will still be spots in the fall.

@applenana Have you tried the USC financial aid calculator? Opinions are split on how accurate it is with some saying USC doesn’t like to give much aid to transfers but another poster, rahforhee, received a lot of financial aid! It’s not a guarantee, but it could give you a good idea. For instance, it says I would need to pay 10K out of pocket with my mother’s income.

@Mick96 It’s pretty hard to say. People accepted in mid-July were getting in for both the fall and spring. If you submit your spring grades well before then, I would at least assume fall admission would be more likely for you

@USCwanabe I have grades out for some classes. I know one of my professors is going to grade my stuff on Saturday (Early according to him). As soon as I get my grades from all my courses, I am going to take a screenshot online and will proceed to send it to my USC counselor. I am taking an English course online through my community college from back home because Penn State’s Eng 202C classes filled up very fast. I also have to send that out with my Elion grades. So I am probably going to email my grades on Sunday or Monday, depends how fast my professors finish their grading. My finals weren’t the greatest. I had a double whammy of Physics and Electrical Engineering on Tuesday (back to back)and tomorrow will be differential equations (45% of our grade). I am hoping for B’s and A’s, which is what I am content with as an Engineer. I hope your finals went well and you get good grades.

@Mick96 in last years thread there were some who were accepted for fall!!! But I think the ones who heard back in July were accepted for spring so I guess it depends on how many were already accepted for your major and how much space is left I think.

Does anyone have Kelsey Bradshaw as a counselor?

@ForeverGymnast21 I never call him I always email him and he gets back to me within a day or in the same day. And I emailed him and he told me (I’ll quote from the email), “You will receive one of 2 notifications by June 1st;” Maybe I might have misinterpreted it but that’s what i got from it.

@81Mamba You can’t still submit them? Did you talk to him about your situation?

I got a really fast response from my counselor today! I emailed him at 3:28PM and he got back to me by 3:33PM. Maybe he was checking his email and my message interrupted him or something :stuck_out_tongue: I’m hoping he can make a decision now that he has the document he wanted from me.

Has anyone heard or a junior transfer being accepted for the Spring semester?

@tobyandthecrew I do!
