Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

For those accepted, when did you get your financial aid?

@jasmine2468

I used to work in Financial Aid at my school and when the school is asking a student for tax transcripts, it is for the sake of providing proof of the income and will to file/not file for taxes for whatever year. Some students don’t need to provide this, for whatever reason the financial aid office deems necessary. I believe the same thing goes for USC, which means you can still be accepted and not be asked for any tax transcripts.

Tax transcripts are not a sign of an acceptance, but if you DO get one, it may be a good sign. If you DO NOT get one, it does not mean anything.

@applenana Thanks for replying and letting me know!

@RAHforHEE Thanks for the information. I think I am just stressing out and making assumptions. Your info helps. Thank you

My son completed(or in progress) 43 units before graduating from high school, which include the following courses: MATH245,MATH126,MATH114,ECON205,ECON203,WRIT130, a English writing course, introduction to C++, and a nutrition course.
He got 5s on AP Cal BC, AP Comp, AP Psy and 4 on AP USH.

If he want to apply 2015~2016 transfer, he will be a junior or sophomore student?
Does he need to declare major when he apply?
How many units he will be granted from USC for those courses completed( plus APs) before high school graduation?

What courses he needs to take from fall term 2015?
Thank you.

Have any applicants from UC heard back yet? :frowning:

Ok so are there any applicants here who HAVENT been asked for 2014 tax returns (yours & parents) on youSC? It should be under your financial aid tab.

I didn’t get asked for the tax returns @woahwhat

I am a transfer student applying for Marshall with 41 units and I received a Spring Grade Request.
My current GPA is a 3.85 and could potentially go up to a 3.9 or down to 3.8

If my GPA happens to drop to a 3.8, is this okay? What GPA must I maintain in order to get accepted?

@taotao88 Your son has done very well in school, from what you have posted 43 units would be sophomore status but that would also depend on which courses transfer over for him. Has he already applied to transfer Fall of 2015? The admissions department at usc can help answer your questions much better than I can including what major he would be interested in doing - good luck!

@jasmine2468 did you get asked for any documents regarding your financial aid during the whole process?

@jabeauty I don’t know anyone who is applying to Annenberg this year… I know couple ppl who got in last year with different GPAs and EA… It is really hard to know what are they looking for… I have 3.8 not much EA in college, and I am not super satisfied with my essays… What about you?

@ilovecollege77 I would talk to your USC admissions counselor about that to confirm.

Anyone heard from Viterbi ?? Can anyone assess my possibility ? Sophomore transfer. 4.0 GPA. 4 AP 5 score courses. Studied at CC right now.

Does anyone know whether USC gives close to your family’s FAFSA EFC?

I was asked for my tax return info but I received an SGR a few days ago. I’m also on TTP so hopefully that helps.

@woahwhat No! Nothing. They have what I submitted when doing my application initially - FAFSA and the CSS Profile data.

@ilovecollege77 On the same boat here. I think mine will drop. I think if the most part your gpa does not have a huge change you would be fine.

I got asked for my tax returns back in early March…

I just got an SGR today! Does this mean that I’m considered being accepted?? I’ve been reading mixed comments about this

@scismydream SGR does not give any clear indication of whether or not you’ll be admitted. AFAIK people in prior years have both been accepted and rejected independent of whether or not they got an SGR.

All we know is that if you’re a sophomore transfer, you’re much more likely to get one.
