Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@jucery13 sorry for the delayed reply. & thanks for the insight on CSULB. I already accepted admission there as a backup if I don’t get into USC. Im a journalism major btw! Just sucks how my registration date is June 1st, but I can’t register until after orientation which is on July 22nd, and most classes are already full/almost full.

@RAHforHEE @pumalover34 yes, I have her as well too! I attend El Camino CC. Still haven’t received an admission decision though. (I’m an Annenberg applicant.) Only spoke to her over the phone, and she was kind and helped me update my app. Do you think it would have made a difference if I had met her in person? shrugs oh well

@ajw14f @summertime123 @maleficent95 @LoratheFora @jabeauty @lemons222 @college1015567 Hey, notice you’re all Annenberg applicants as well. I was looking through last year’s thread and it seems like we’re going to be the last ones to find out if they go along with last year’s pattern.

Here’s my stats for those that are wondering:

I applied as a comm. major & broadcast journ. as my 2nd choice. Currently have 65 units, (only 54 transferrable) plus six more transferrable units in progress. Completed all GEs including lower div. writing, 3rd sem. language, and diversity req. 3.47 GPA and about 2 journalism related activities and general work exp, 1 community involvement club.

I was rejected last year when I applied as a broadcast major, but was unaware that USC doesn’t really consider you for journalism majors if you have over 36 units, plus I didn’t feel that my essays were that strong and I submitted some app. materials late.

Anyways, hope everyone gets in and good luck to all! [-O<

Please share your stats or any admission decision updates!

If someone could ease my thoughts that would be great,

So I submitted my common app before the Feb 1st deadline and had requested a fee waiver for the app fee. Yet I had not heard anything from my counselor at CC about the fee waiver. I have met with him several times this semester but I keep forgetting to bring it up. So I just decided to pay the fee right now, and my question is: Does paying the fee this long after the Feb 1st deadline affect me in anyway?

Does anyone know when the SDA BA &BFA Acting people heard back last year?

3 weeks and 4 days left until June 1st

I’m still worried since I haven’t heard anything back yet but it’s still early

@Msmclagirl Same here… I’m trying to figure out which school I should SIR to as my back up…

Just checked the portal. Got accepted. How do you know which school accepted me?

@TonyStark93 I know what you mean, I just really hate how we have to wait so long and plus my financial has to go to whatever school I pick and if I have to wait until June 1st then my financial aid will be late. And if you SIR at a school and USC accepts you, you can’t even get your money back

SGRd yesterday, May 7. Geological Sciences at Dornsife, applying from Santa Monica College with 60 credits complete by the end of Spring. 4.0 at SMC, taking Intro Chemistry Lab, Chinese 2, Human Geog. and World Geog. this semester. Was asked for Winter Grades about two weeks ago as well. 3.12 GPA transferrable right now, should be able to get to 3.3 by the end of this term.

Don’t hear a ton about Earth Sciences on this thread, so there ya go. BS in Geological Sciences is my primary choice, BA in Earth Sciences is my alternate.

@Msmclagirl just as anxious! I’m so tempted to SIR at a UC just so I can get it over with, haha.

Does anyone can tell me about requirement of sending the spring grade? Does it has to be official and mailed from school?

I dont remember exactly who on this thread was concerned with financial aid given at USC and costs, but the $67,000 total costs is for 1 year at USC correct? so if i was estimated to get $40k in aid is that per semester or year?

Damn they need to hurry up with their decisions… Just tell me whether I’m accepted or rejected!!!

I need to send in my freakn SIR… ugh…

@anamazing that would be 40k per year

Has anyone been accepted to dornslife? I applied as a biology major and I feel like it’s taking so long :frowning:

@futuretrojan93 My second choice major was Annenberg too!
Any UT Austin transfer students in this thread?!

Checked my portal this morning and I still haven’t heard anything…getting super worried

@fightonRT I applied to Dornsife and haven’t heard anything still

Dornsife here too. Nothing yet, but since my counselor just asked for proof of HS graduation this week, I figure he just got around to me and I have to wait a bit still.
