Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

Does unit count come in to play when SGRs are sent out??

For example I have 80+ units. Would I get an SGR?

Cause I haven’t gotten anything yet…

@TonyStark93

My friend got an SGR and he has about 52 units, called the admissions office and they said they just want to see his progress. It could be for a number of reasons, though. But the main reason is because they weren’t impressed by the previous coursework and will make an admissions decision based off your spring course work. This is straight from the mouth of an admissions counselor my friend talked to. So avoid dropping a class like he did because the admissions counselor basically said he would be rejected. Sucks that we may not be up there together, but it’s life.

@RAHforHEE

Okay. I admit that this thread was actually created for this year transfers. It was my confusion. But I told you I’ve already tried to change the name (meaning I’ve already contacted the college confidential). There is nothing I can do anymore. Okay?

It just offends me the way you talk to me because I actually tried to help.

People are already using the new thread for stats anyways.

@TonyStark93 I think if you have a lot of units and a god GPA, then they have enough to work with to make a decision. SGR is usually for people who either do not have enough units or have a GPA that is making them think twice before making a decision.

@jasmine2468 Thank you for sharing the link! It helps (;

So i saw the link you guys posted for the usc blog, but i have 30 units now since my spring semester ended but have not received and SGR yet

@jasmine2468 @lordfx Thanks guys for the link!

@Msmclagirl I’m in the same boat, but the article says that you can receive an SGR anytime by June 1st, so it’s not too late.

You’ll need to be relax and be patient. I don’t know the transfer statistics for this year, or last, but on the usc website it has them for 2013. There were 8000+ applications. I can only imagine this year is similar. For only a handful of admission counselors, that is a lot to go through.

I just checked my portal and I received a SGR!!! :slight_smile:

I am so surprised (and grateful). I had a downward trend recently (because of personal reasons), but I’m happy USC saw that I’m a better person now and gave me a chance to prove it the Spring semester. Don’t lose hope guys!

@mochibbycake Ahhh you gave me hope! We have the same counselor with the same major. So hopefully their reviewing my application! Fight on!

@CCtransferSC I’m rooting for you! Fight on! :smiley:

Any Viterbi applicant ? ? . Heard nothing yet

my counselor told me that the internal deadline for decisions on all files is tomorrow… dun dun dunnnn

I am surprised of all the infos the counselors are willing to tell you guys haha

Internal deadline to do what?

So basically by tomorrow USC will have decided our fate?

That can’t be possible.

Internal deadline? What does that mean? @tobyandthecrew

That contradicts what the USC blog said! They said their still going through applications
