Yeah I don’t believe that.
God I hope that’s true but sounds a bit too perfect and easy to be true…fingers crossed!
I mean I hope its true too… I had asked (today) if it was too late to switch my second choice major… and they replied yes unfortunately it is since they are wrapping up reviews for transfers this week. and i usually keep my cool but got incredibly nervous since i saw another person who said their counselor okayd it. and i asked if it was indicative of rejection because i talked to someone who had changed theirs very recently. and she said no not at all its just that our internal deadline for decisions on all files is tomorrow because we have to get everything in the mail and prepared to honor the june 1st decision date.
thats all i know.
they might have just been trying to mitigate any anxiety but it seemed honest
I think they might have just been saying that myself. I got an SGR very late into May (May 26th) last year, so they still have quite a bit of time to make decisions. Of course, I guess the counselor could have meant that they’ll decide what to do, but just won’t let us know until later on in the month
I think (REALLY REALLY HOPE) the latter, as it is an “internal” decision.
There’s other schools that people have been accepted to already and need to make a decision or deposit by the end of this month maybe sooner idk? It would make sense what @tobyandthecrew was told today usc has to get their own letters in the mail or at least finish sending out the last of the SGR.
@zettasyntax when did people start hearing about rejections last year?
From last year’s thread around the last week of May. I applied as a Sophomore last year and got my rejection on June 1st. And the letter was mailed to me during that week. The date on the letter was June 1st
Ah I remember being rejected last year. I was devastated and Cried and burned my rejection letter lol
@tobyandthecrew do you mean “internal” decision coming directly from your counselor? That being whatever he/she decided on and then sending it to the department committee for approval or denial?
I do believe the rejections came out practically last as well, but I cut it pretty close with an SGR just before June 1st. My actual rejection didn’t come until mid-July. I just threw my letter away lol
What the fk… so you guys are saying they could send a SGR on June 1st
And then we would have to wait another month for a final decision???
I might as well burn $100 since I’m going to have to SIR to UC
@madlion21 I definitely cannot answer with certainty, but I don’t think so… otherwise the committee would have to go through thousands and thousands of applications within a matter of days.
My friend got an SGR last year on June 1st and then she heard back from them by mid july. She got in as Spring admit
@jasmine2468 I like the way you think!!! awesome way to deal with that letter
@TonyStark93 Yeah, that’s pretty much the case. I remember a Marshall applicant got his decision in July as well after his SGR (which I think preceded mine by mere days), so it can take several weeks after an SGR to get a final decision. I had to just submit my SIR to ucla even though usc is my dream school because I need somewhere to go in case they reject me again.
@zettasyntax thank you! amazed you have the patience to go through this process again. mad recognition
So basically what they wrote on their blog about transfers recently is total bullshit?
