No @Msmclagirl. they just supposedly decide tomorrow what to do in terms of accepting rejecting sgr and won’t get through notifying everyone until june 1.
but they already have sent out sgr to some people and have to then go through those applications again for those who have submitted their transcript. so its not like the committee just sits back and is like chillll we are done because they still gotta keep going and reviewing after the first look at everyones app. and just because those people already got their sgr doesn’t mean they will even find out by june 1st. i think its just that everyone will have some kind of notification by then. if that made sense it may have not
Either that or just giving those of us waiting something nice to think about? @Msmclagirl
@zettasyntax Agreed you have amazing patience glad to hear you’ve got ucla as your backup - just out of curiosity having gone through this whole process before does it seem to follow a similar pattern or is it different in anyway this time around?
@jasmine2468 Are you a SCA applicant? That’s pretty tough from what I hear
I remember just one poster from last year applying and she got in as her second major instead. I wish you better luck this year and hope neither of us have to burn things
@madlion21 For the most part, I’d still say things are the same. Viterbi applicants unfortunately still seem to be among the last to know anything
So they’ve mostly stuck to a schedule like last year. The only weird thing was that they seemed to have been accepting people in a weird order determined by major rather than by the school for a time. Although that may just be a generalization one can make from our posters in the forum this year. The major difference is that it seems acceptances are getting sent by mail faster than ever before - even before you know online and that overall, their system is a little slow with notifying people this year.
I don’t think an SGR, to USC, is an admissions decision. Because on the portal it said something like, “We will have either an admissions decision or request for spring grades by June 1st”. So, maybe the decisions that the counselors have been talking about are going to be rejection or acceptance letters!
Good luck to everyone!
Man it really sucks that rejections are the last decisions to be released. Just salt in the wound…
Again, I really don’t understand why decisions aren’t being released at once. They aren’t doing rolling admission so it’s only fair.
So i just saw my gpa from my spring semester, should I tell my counselor what I received or there’s no use?
@Msmclagirl Probably not, because all they’re going to say is to go ahead and send the transcripts in anyway. But if it’s a situation where you didn’t do too well, I would talk to the counselor about it.
@zettasyntax On USC’s system being slow - this makes a lot of sense. Their system kept giving me notifications about missing documents that they had already reviewed. I emailed them about this and they told me it was a bug in the system and the information had been reviewed. I think they’re sorting through a lot of kinks online because this is the first year they’ve used YouSC… at least AFAIK.
If this internal deadline information is indeed true, then I guess it means for us students who have not gotten an SGR will not be seeing one? That makes me very nervous!!
@HappyLifeMachine Same Same Same
sheesh, glad i’m not the only one who hasn’t heard anything back yet!
has anyone from annenberg heard yet? I’m a PR major and I’ve heard nothing and it doesn’t seem like annenberg applicants have heard anything SGR, acceptance, or rejection.
Is there a pattern to the days that decisions are released? Are most decisions mailed out at the end of the week?
@college1015567 I’m an Annenberg applicant as well and I still have not heard anything! I got into LMU and I’m holding off on making a commitment there because I’m still waiting on hearing from USC.
@college1015567 Annenberg PR as well and have hear nothing as well. From last years thread, looks like Annenberg can expect to hear back mid-late may:/
Just sent in my spring grades. I hope I don’t have to wait till July 15 for a decision since I submitted it rather early
I submitted an unofficial transcript electronically. I hope that’s ok.
@poisonx I would submit it electronically and officially just to not waste time in case they need the official copy
@jasmine2468 Yeah, that is the plan. As soon as the official transcript becomes available I’m sending it out. I wonder if they’ll make a decision based on an unofficial transcript.
@poisonx as per the USC spring grade request, “if admitted, students who have submitted unofficial transcripts… Must provide an official transcript prior to registration for courses at USC orientation”
