Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@dlelgus12 go back and read page 124 of this thread under the post from @20tigger17 it will hopefully give you your answer very informative. Hope it’s great news

Came home from work to eat lunch and my admissions package was at my door! Nothing online has been updated since I turned in my material in January. No OASIS, no information on my you.usc.edu account, no financial aid updates, no emails. It was a total surprise.

Admitted to School of Cinematic Arts, MA+P.

I live about 30 minutes from USC, so I am sure a lot of people will be hearing back next week.

Still waiting on financial aid package (I hope they can provide this without sending the enrollment deposit, does anyone know?), but I have some big decisions to make this month. I am absolutely thrilled with admission to MA+P. Completely surprised. I was told by staff there are only 3-4 transfer spots in the fall 2015 class so I really wasn’t getting my hopes up. It was my first choice major not only at SC, but all schools I applied to. Good luck to all of you.

Will the admissions package come via regular postal mail? Or express or 3 day mail?

I got my acceptance in the mail on the 29th. I had received my financial aid package within a week. And I think you have two weeks from receiving your letter to send your enrollment commitment.
Basically, you should have your financial aid package before sending your fee.

I applied to SCA as a film and television production major. I had tons of EC’s and an internship. And I worked really hard on my supplements.

For SGRs, do they send that information via postal mail as well as the portal or just the portal?

In that case, I would be upset as well about an SGR.
What is your semester looking like this year? 4.0 as well? I do remember that SCA is extremely competitive. Hopefully you get accepted after sending in your grades.

It was on my portal, and it will be mailed too as the instructions are in the mail

Thanks @MedicMatt

@Mrowsey Mine came USPS with tracking number on the outside. Other than that, can’t tell if it was express or priority or first class, just that it cost them $5 and some change.

It is a 4.0 as well. I hope so. I know the acceptance rate s like 4-7% but still I am very upset that I have to possibly wait till Mid july to know if I will be going there or not.

Does anyone know if SGR means that I will have to wait till Mid July? Or are there chances of me hearing back by June 1st? I already submitted by Spring grades as my semester ended last week

I would imagine just like normal acceptances. You’ll hear back whenever they look at it and make a decision.

Since I’m a sophomore transfer and a dornsife applicant, I’ve kind of made peace at the fact that I think I’ve been rejected since I haven’t heard anything back yet and so many dornsife applicants have. Just waiting for the letter to arrive at this point…

@jasmine2468 I am wondering the exact same thing. My spring grades were really good this semester and I sent them in two weeks ago. So I’m hoping to receive a decision on the first, rather than mid-july.

This is what my portal said

“We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing. We hope to receive the grades before June 30. We expect you will be notified of our final decision by mid-July.”

@emwrbrtn I know! USC is annoying me now. It is not fair at all

Have a lot of Dornsife applicants heard back? We’ve only heard from a few on this board in econ and science majors. I haven’t heard anything from Dornsife at all.

@samchoochiu have you heard back yet?

@transfersc I’m a Dornsife applicant and still havent heard back from USC. Neither my friends. This wait is killing me

I looked at last year’s thread and people were accepted at Dornsife all the way until the end of the month.
