@MedicMatt Did any of those W’s appear on your spring semester before matriculating?
Guys, what if you got a W and you retook the class? Do they still see that as a bad thing and do they still count it as a W or do they replace it with the retaken grade?
Cause if this is the case I have technically 2 W’s…
Yes, they were there when I applied. One was a major course, that I am currently retaking this semester. Chem I dropped when taking 17 units, and the other was dropped due to doing terrible after a family issue. Although, I did explain them, and felt they were logical reasons. Additionally, the rest of my application, in my opinion, was on point.
Guys 1 or 2 W’s won’t ruin your chances. That is what one counselor told the guy and maybe he was specifically referring to this situation. We don’t know the whole story and from previous posts, people with W’s have gotten in. USC really does not stick to a certain method for all applicants. There have been people with W’s accepted and rejected. People with 4.0 accepted and rejected, and I just saw someone from last year’s thread get accepted with a GPA of 3.3 or something for economics. People with tons of EC’s and lack of EC’s get accepted or rejected too.
My point is lets not worry! And lets not speculate. Waiting is not easy already, do not make it worse for yourself. And lets accept the fact that someone of us might have to wait till mid July to hear back. So be positive!!
On the other hand, did anyone from SCA - film production hear back anything?
Hey guys,
I never got a SGR and was accepted a week ago.
Will they ask me for my spring quarter grades (UC transfer) even though I got accepted?
My conditions on my acceptance letter doesn’t state anything
@jteng007 Well, you’re going to have to send them your transcripts so your classes transfer over anyway, so I would send them over just to be sure. If money is an issue for sending the transcripts then definitely ask your admissions counselor about this.
@jteng007 They will need your final transcripts because every school asks for that once you are accepted but your grades won’t change their decision if you did bad as you are already accepted you. If you failed a class, I am not sure what the procedure is
Hey goes does it matter if I did CR/NC for one of my classes?
Ok the comments here got me real concerned about my SGR… I got my SGR like 3 weeks back
My high school GPA was terrible. l had an upward trend until the very last term which i got a 28/42
but I ended up getting a 33/45 for IB diploma. I have no w’s

English B HL-6

I am a sophomore transfer applicant and have 41 credits in total (12 from IB diploma, 14 first semester (fall) 15 the spring semester
My sats are follows

My Ec’s aren’t that great but i had 2 very good recommendations from my chinese professor and my english professor and my essays were pretty solid
My first semester in Penn state-university park (fall 2014)
i took 4 courses 14 credits total

My spring grades are the follows
Chinese 2-A
Marketing 301-A

I also got a 4.0 the spring semester and sent my transcript in about a week ago
I applied to marshall (marketing) and I’m an international student from Korea. I lived in NZ while i was doing my IB diploma
Do you think ill have a fair chance of getting in? I worked my ass off getting that 4.0 last 2 semester. I really hope i get in this time.
Some one chance me I am really worried.
I got a SGR on May 1st and this quarter I am looking to get a 3.9. I am applying to Marshall for business admin as a incoming sophmore. Are my chances high?
@MedicMatt Wow, congrats to you! And thanks for your input.
@jasmine2468 I still haven’t heard back from USC. I did get an email from Chapman this weekend that they rejected my application so now it’s all on USC or I’ll have to wait another year to try again
I’ve never had any messages before, and last night I logged on to you.usc and I some link popped up that said “Submit mid-year grades” and once I clicked on it, it said the page couldn’t load. When I refreshed the page, the link disappeared. Has anyone else had that?
@filmbuff24 I am sorry! Did you apply to other schools? I know you applied to UCLA and Chapman so far.
Film production is a tricky major. All the good schools providing it only have couple seats and they all are extremely competitive and selective.
Just 4 days until Friday!!
Unfortunately not yet
Is there any significance for Friday?
Based on last year’s thread, a number of people got accepted/SGRed on the 21st and 23rd which is pretty much this Wednesday and Friday so hopefully some of us that are still waiting can finally hear back!
It’s finals week for me and I feel like I’m spending more time reading threads and refreshing my YouSC rather than studying…lol
“The Admission staff will be at a conference today through the 20th. It may take us a little longer to return your messages and e-mails, but we will get to them as soon as possible.”
There might be less activity these few days then
