Does USC send its decision or SGR through mail, email, or does it post on you.usc.edu?
@jasmine2468 @itsconnord I was on the phone with USC about financial aid so I thought I would ask about our applications as well. The lady I was talking to said SCA decisions will be happening next week. She said I might get mine a little quicker because I’m close to them in Northern CA but she said people who have not received SGRs will definitely get a decision by the June 1st deadline.
@filmbuff24 I received a SGR!! AHHH I do not want to wait any longer.
It is nice the lady told you more than the generic “by June 1st” crap they give me everytime I call them
@filmbuff24 Thanks for the info, hoping that it possibly applies to all applicants not just SCA.
@jasmine2468 Are you happy that you got an SGR? At this point that would probably be torture to me to wait any longer but it means theres still hope!
Yeah the lady I spoke with was actually very nice. She sounded very confident that non SGR people would get decisions before June. Hopefully they will get back to you quickly! Good luck!
@filmbuff24 Thank you!! Keep me updated and I hope its a good news
@filmbuff24 thanks so much for the update! At least were getting a bit more concrete info!
Does anyone know if we can know our financial decisions even if we got an SGR? No, right? They would have to accept you first, right?
Also, I received my SGR in early May (May 3rd). Does anyone know if those who receive their SGR early is an indication of anything? Like they might accept me or not? I know this question is really vague…
One more question! Will the “required documents” that show the Spring Grades Transcript be empty one they receive the transcript? I sent it last Tuesday.
@smileyface31 No, I don’t believe you get to see financial aid stuff before you’re accepted. I actually can still see that my application from last year is still “in review”, so I assume that’s there until you get accepted.
I don’t really think the time of the SGR has much to do with it. I got an SGR on the same date as two other students - they were accepted and I was not. Our SGR date was around May 24th, so we all got our SGR rather late.
Yeah, it will go away eventually. If you don’t see it vanish after a week or so, maybe give them a call to see if anything went wrong. I always like to email or call if I’m worried they didn’t get something.
So I just called the admissions office and asked if my application has been looked at and the person on the phone said it has been looked at. I then asked if a decision was already made and she said no, so I am so confused.
@Msmclagirl They will not tell you even if a decision has been made.
and there is still time for decisions, so do not worry
Received acceptance today, 5/19, by mail. School of Cinematic Arts - Critical Studies.
@abenorth Hey another SCA major! Congrats! I think you are the first SCA person on this thread to hear back. Do you mind if I ask…Was Critical Studies your first choice? When did you apply?
@abenorth It was dated 5/19 and you recieved it by mail today? Congratulations!!!

@abenorth do you live close to USC?
I called SCA, and the lady told me all the internal transfer decisions are made. the External transfer decisions are still pending
