@cs2015 I did not yesterday or this morning, but I got a financial aid notice like 2 or 3 weeks ago.
I just got my acceptance in the mail to Marshall School of Business this afternoon! I guess that financial aid email was a good sign like I suggested
Stats for anyone who is wondering:
Transferring from LA Valley College with a 3.98
Took calc 1 and 2, econ 1 and 2, accounting 1 & 2, english requirements
@batzbatz Sometimes it takes an extra day or two for them to put it all into the system. I recall junior applicants last year who were put down as sophomores until all of their coursework was evaluated. If your restrictions update and your stars report now shows things such as your major, you have nothing left to worry about - you are in. A rejected applicant has never had that happen to them (I would know)
@angelakav Congrats! I took a few computer science courses at Valley - they were cool. I remember getting a lot of financial aid emails last year and I was ultimately rejected
Maybe I was the exception to the rule if the financial aid is supposed to be a good sign? I’ve gotten absolutely no financial aid emails this year though, so I don’t know what to think of things.
@cs2015 what did the email say on it?
@zettasyntax thank you!!! and ohhhh i’m sorry, you bring up a good point though - it must have just been a coincidence
@zettasyntax wow I hope so haha thanks. Wish you the best as well, I’ve been lurking around here and seen you’re so helpful!
@usc4mepls it says they are currently reviewing my financial aid application and that they will email me to inform me when my application/summary is ready. Also, it says that when I receive my summary, it will list the aid I am eligible for and the steps I will need to take to receive it.
@angelakav Wow congrats! I hope you’re right about the email being a good sign!
My portal is not working now, hopefully their updating it…
@angelakav Congratulations! Are you transferring in as a sophomore or junior?
@sc193874 I was already SGR’d though, so I wonder what that glitch meant.
The financial aid email going around seems like a pretty good hint that one is accepted.
So I called them and they told me that the transfer merit scholarships are out and students who are still waiting for a decision will not qualify as there are only limited number of transfer scholarship sent out every year.
What the hell?
That makes no sense at all … @jasmine2468
So has anyone here that got SGR’d heard back yet?
@provence97 junior & thank you!!
@jasmine2468 on their website it states that they give transfer merit scholarships to applicants with 30+ units by the time they submitted their applications. That means that they give the scholarships to the top junior applicants most likely.
Since my Oasis restrictions, stars report and audit report have been updated with my transfer courses… assuming this is good news… would this mean a flat out acceptance? or is there still a possibility of getting an SGR?
l
@thelakidd Nope, no SGR. You are for sure in. Everyone that has their stars filled out with their major and see anything other than it being blank gets in. I don’t recall a single instance of someone with like a rejection or SGR seeing that - only accepted students. It’s happened several times to people in this thread already and all the time last year, so I would bust out the party favors
@thelakidd if my restriction was 4/30 am I screwed?
@usc4mepls I have Megan Skalbeck. I’m a junior Dornsife applicant and I havent heard anything.
