Has anyone gotten the Merit scholarship yet? How did they get notified?
@usc4mepls It’s computer automated, I noticed it was around 24 hours but up to two nights.

@sugarhiccup I will definitely keep everyone posted! It’s been a long journey. I really pray I get in. I was on TTP and everything and thought for sure if I did my absolute best I would be on my way

Coming my way. I was SGR’d and my counselor said that I would hear back by June 1. Why would she set a date when most rejections come out? Correct me if I’m wrong but SGR’d applicants do not have a set date other than the generic mid-July?

@usc4mepls It was 3.5 the last time I applied. Went up a bit, I hope they take that into consideration!

In the fall we are sitting near the USU having some coffee talking about how paranoid we all were in June 2015. All of a sudden poisonx drops his coffee when he hears the sudden pounding of the USC marching band along side the USC song girls. Jucery13 winks at one of the USC song girls, and she winks back, jucery13 passes out. Meanwhile usc4mepls and sugarhiccup quickly offer some spare UCLA sweater to poisonx in order to clean up the spilled coffee. Incredibly grateful poisonx buys us all usc mugs. Before we know it the day is over and the sun begins to set across USC carillon tower.

@jucery13 I appreciate the optimism! But look at us, it’s 140 AM and were posting about little things that were supposed to notice that indicate if we got in or not. I’m terrified now. I didn’t get a Gina coal aid email, my stars report isn’t updated yet, my restrictions thing was updated earlier today, apparently a bunch of rejects are supposed to find out soon… Like I didn’t wake up this morning thinking about any of this:( I think I need to delete this account or something because I was so confident I had a shot and now I’m not at all.

@usc4mepls I guess your right, regardless. Why think about things that are outside of your control, yes it will really suck to get rejected, i sometimes am afraid as well, but at the end of the day can you control what admission decide?, no you unfortunately can’t. All you can do is try your best next year , or try appealing, everything else is outside of your control.
BUT WE SHALL GET IN, I REPEAT WE SHALL GET IN!

@jucery13 I guess I could give a lil background info. After consulting my USC counselor we decided undeclared in dornsife was a good choice and wouldn’t negatively effect my admission. So I’m undeclared dornsife. I go to ccc 3.75 presidents honor roll, ΦΘΚ honor society, and I’m an RA at the local dorms at the nearby UC. I’m on the Trojan transfer plan and am Trojan family. One killer letter from my counselor and my essays were USC specific and truly showed how much I wana go.

@usc4mepls Ever since high school I’ve wanted to go to USC. I didn’t apply out of high school as I though i wouldn’t get in. Im currently a student at CSULB who finished his second year at CSULB. about 1 year ago, I was like, I WILL DO EVERYTHING I POSSIBLY CAN TO GET IN TO USC(capitalized to emphasize the conviction in voice) anyways i ended up taking all the GE Courses for USC (Cat 1-5) and also took the business pre reqs available at my school(Im applying for Marshall). I got all As on the USC Core and Pre Reqs courses except one class(category V) I currently have a 3.73 GPA with about 58 units or so. And just like you my essays were purely based on USC(the common app essay). Thats my story
