@rosyme my major is Philosophy, Politics, and law (dornsife). What about you? I know the wait is killing!!!
@Mick96 dorms are just for freshman. There are on-campus apartments that transfers can apply to live in, but it’s highly unlikely you’ll get on-campus housing at this point
Also, is anyone else having trouble SIR’ing? It keeps saying my form of payment is invaild and I’ve tried several cards to pay with.
@Shortstop3 thats the thing, i went to my “you.usc” portal -> “check status of financial aid” -> “required forms and info” and under “required documents”, it says “none”.
under the “check status of financial aid”, it says “application under review” and it also says “We have received all required documents. Your financial aid application is currently in review. Please note: We will notify you if additional documents are required throughout the review process. Financial Aid Awards are usually available 3 - 5 business days after all required documents have been received.”
its been like that since i first submitted my application. what do you think it could be?
@jch718 My major is Bus Admin. So I applied to Marshall.
Do you guys think it’s cheaper to stay in USC housing or places like the Lorenzo/University Gateway. I’m kind of new to these things and it seems like it’s cheaper to live in outside apartments. Thoughts?
My counselor told me they are working on my application and will try their best to have my decision as soon as possible. Does she really mean she will get is ASAP or does this mean I have to wait till mid july? I am SOO Done with USC
@poisonx I would say that the lorenzo and Gateway are the nicest outside apartments. Lorenzo also has a nice community feel to it due to its isolation (about a half mile ish from campus). The difference between USC housing and places like the lorenzo is that USC housing ends when the semester ends. The Lorenzo requires a year long lease, so you might be paying for 3 months extra, even if you’re not living there.
@jasmine2468 i’m still waiting too after submitting my spring grades. What’s your major?
that sounds like a cool major
@xfertoxfer Everyone has been saying it’s a good sign, but I received that EXACT email back in early March… I wouldn’t think they would be looking at transfer applications at that time, but who knows
(And I got a SGR)
Does anyone know how I gain access to OASIS? I just submitted my commitment deposit
I just submitted my housing application. I chose Parkside, Webb, Troy, and Vista as my preferences. Anyone else applied to these apartments?
I just got my grades (4.0) And now I’ll be sending them since I’ve been sgr!!!
@Shortstop3 Do you think it’s cheaper overall to live in a non-usc affiliated apartment?
Just to be clear, if we’ve been admitted we can’t take classes this summer at a community college correct? I remember hearing that from someone but I’m not sure if it’s correct…
@trnsferstudent Good luck!!!
I’m still waiting for my grades to be posted (two weeks from now) and I’m hoping the same result as a SGR applicant as well.
@Mick96 Apparently you can. I was told last year that USC doesn’t like if you take GE classes at your CC after being admitted (they’d rather you’d take them there). However, I’ve heard that people this year have asked and were told it was okay. So my guess is that you definitely can take summer classes. They’d just like it more if you took classes with them
@poisonx I chose all the same except Severance St instead of Troy. Got my housing offer two days ago and was assigned to Annenberg House. Sent in a reassignment request today to see if I can be switched.
@UCorUSC02 When did you submit the application? I’m trying to get an idea as to how long they take to assign housing.
