Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@lordfx yes. I received a very good package. How was yours?

@jasmine2468 I got an email yesterday for additional info, letter was dated yesterday, received taco today!

the financial aid letter I received was asking for tax return forms, not the ability to benefit that @Shortstop3 is referring to

@xfertoxfer the ability to benefit goes away quickly and you’re not notified that it is there. I got a financial aid email the day after I had noticed it. When I checked back the ability to benefit had already disappeared. My guess is that yours had already disappeared before you noticed it.

@xfertoxfer WOW thats great you got in for business admin this fall! However now its got me wondering why I got in for spring :expressionless: even though my application was processes before yours
In my acceptance letter they it was full and that why I had been accepted for spring. I am extremely jelly

@Shortstop3 ahh i see, yeah it could be that it had disappeared!

@jucery13 thank you! yeah idk how they determine spring or fall admission  hopefully you can get switched to fall somehow! if not, see you in the spring!

@jucery13 I honestly think it’s sorta random at this point =\ I tried to look for patterns going with the information that was posted a couple of days ago, but it doesn’t always seem to fit. I don’t get it lol.

I’ve also tried to contact a bunch of different people and they’re all so strict about not asking that I’m pretty sure my chances of switching are like 3% at this point :stuck_out_tongue:

@zettasyntax, hmm so what are you planning to do during fall?

@jucery13 Probably go to ucla with the way things are looking. I got an email the other day saying my CC won’t pay for anymore classes I take, so I don’t really want to pay for classes I don’t need to take. I read a mini horror story from someone on this forum that had the worst experience with ucla and now is happily going to attend usc. It sucks to be honest, but I still have that 3% hope :stuck_out_tongue:

I received my golden taco today! DHL delivered it not 15 minutes ago.

A couple more days for my fellow semester peeps who need to send in SGRs. Lets goooo. Good luck on finals guys.

What kind of financial aid did everyone get from USC?

Also, what if I received my acceptance by mail on the 29th but the letter was dated the 27th? Would I have to pay the commitment deposit 2 weeks from the 27th or the 29th? (Two weeks from the 27th was yesterday
) I’m just waiting to see the financial aid and then see if it’s worth going. I already made a $475 deposit at another school

Is the letter delivered by USPS, or like UPS/FedEx etc?

@jch718 USPS Priority Mail I believe with some sort of tracking number. I heard a beep when then mailman stopped by. Although, I guess it depends on where you live too (international and such).

@smileyface31 I am pretty sure it 2 weeks from the date on the acceptance because the date you receive the letter can vary. I would call and check with the admission office just in case.

@smileyface31 you should call or email and ask them for an extension since you have yet to receive your financial aid package. I received my acceptance package on the 27th and the letter was dated the 23rd. I emailed my admissions counselor and told her If I could have an extension on my acceptance in order to make a proper decision, since I just received my financial the day before the two week deadline (from the 23rd). She gladly said yes, to take my time on making a decision and said if there was any trouble deciding by next Monday (June 15) to contact her for more time.

Anyone familiar with how the process to defer works? And if we’re able to take classes at a CC during our deferal period? Also, how did you submit a commitment fee waiver?

Sent spring grades in on June 1st and still nothing. This will be the death of me

yeah I was wondering about that
I have a friend that is a spring admit and she was wondering if he could take classes at another school this fall (including accepting financial aid)

@Mustang012 as long as you defer for only a semester (fall 2015 —> spring 2016 or spring 2016 —> fall 2016) you are free to take classes as other institutions.

@Mustang012 jucery stated that we just need to put down the number of someone that knows our financial situation, such as our financial aid office. I put down the number of my financial aid office and was able to complete the waiver process. I of course hope I did it correctly though and understood what he meant :stuck_out_tongue:
