@msnow63 Not at all. There’s no reason to give up yet. I know SGR people last year that didn’t hear back until July15th and they still got in! Not only that, they somehow managed to get accepted into the fall semester. I have no idea how that is determined though and I truly believe it is random sometimes. There’s no need to lose hope yet 
I just got my official grades for spring semester. I took a screenshot of our school websites grades page and submitted that to you.usc.edu I then called the admissions office for clarification.
The guy on the phone said a screenshot was fine. He said I’d just have to mail in official transcripts eventually. I thought, per the SGR instructions letter, official transcripts just have to be sent in before I apply for classes, but a decision would be made without them. But apparently according to this guy, that’s wrong. He said the packet will await final review until they receive an official transcript mailed from the school. According to him, they can make a rejection decision based on things uploaded to you.usc , but they won’t make an accepted decision.
Anyone experienced anything to contradict this? Did anyone get accepted just by uploading their grades and not mailing off an official transcript?
my restrictions are updated and got the ability to benefit verification. But no stars report yet. What does this mean?
@blahvetblah That is what they told me. they need to see the final official transcript to make the final decision because unofficial ones can be faked (that is what the guy on the phone told me). I would send in the official ones asap
@jasmine2468 @blahvetblah I actually called today to ask why you.usc was still asking for my transcript for my spring grades and they should’ve received my official transcript by now (It’s been about a week and I live in the bay area) as well as I have submitted an unofficial transcript on you.usc. She said my unofficial transcript was just fine and is sufficient for the spring grade request and an official transcript will be required later on if I were to be admitted.
For anyone who has submitted their transcript for SGR and is still waiting, the person I spoke to said we will find out by the end of this month or the beginning of next month.
Also, for anyone else who has submitted an unofficial transcript through you.usc and still has the request to submit a transcript for SGR, it is simply because an unofficial transcript doesn’t actually satisfy the request but once they receive the official transcript and it has been processed/reviewed, then it will go away.
@rosyme So…any form of unofficial transcripts are ok (i.e.: screenshots) and if we’re accepted, that’s when an official transcript must be sent, right?
@woahwhat That’s what the lady from the admission office on the phone told me. She said my unofficial transcript worked fine to provide my spring grades and that it was great that I have already sent over an official transcript so I wouldn’t have to worry about it if I am admitted. But judging from everyone’s response they received, it looks like my answer differs from theirs…
@woahwhat I literally emailed my admission counselor screenshots of my UNofficial transcript, and he had to manually enter my grades in. Then a few days later I received my acceptance. I don’t even think they received my official yet either. You should just email your admissions counselor.

So I called yesterday to admissions about transcripts and I GOT ACCEPTED TO MARSHALL LAST NIGHT. My restriction changed an hour after I called and at 3 AM my stars report updated/ filled out with my major and Fall 2015. I still can’t believe it. I got an email for financial aid and thought to check my oasis.

PS: 7/10 for common app essay
USC PS: 2/10 (did the day of, last minute)
EC: PTK, Honors program certified, 2 part time jobs, 1 internship
Acceptance letter dated Jun 17th. ( I got my ability to benefit yesterday on the 17th too lol). So it only took me 1 day to get it 
I still can’t decide where I’m going. I was talking to an advisor for my major and he stated that USC is going to introduce a new computational linguistics major this upcoming year! UCLA won slightly as they have a joint linguistics/computer science major, but something like that really throws USC back in the game. Of course, if I wasn’t still being bitter over the spring admit thing, I’d choose USC without hesitation 
honestly this acceptance package makes me really want to go here but UCLA has always been my dream school. edit- i still didn’t get my ucla acceptance package (it might be bc i was waitlisted until last thursday)
btw does anybody know what year you are entering as? it doesn’t say here im in entering as a sophomore or junior 
@trnsfrstdnt I don’t really think it says that; just what semester you’re entering as. I’ve only seen a reference to class level under OASIS. Yeah, I really liked the packet too - more than UCLA’s. UCLA’s packet has some cool holographic clear pages though - I enjoyed those.

@trnsfrstdnt I think I got it about two weeks after the April 17th date. I would imagine that they’d be sending it soon, yeah
@rosyme Congratulation on your FALL acceptance! How many business days have you waited before you called the office? I am super nervous about my result, which may come anytime through next week.
