Official USC 2015 Transfer Thread

@trnsfrstdnt I suppose I could have looked at your profile picture and saw that haha. But now that I’ve had some time to calm down. Congrats to everyone accepted!!

haha yea it’s pretty ostentatious! @msnow63 just curious do you know when fin aid is coming out? there’s a slight chance i might end up going since their networking is just simply AMAZING

@Severn777 I waited 3 business days before calling. Although I live in SF. And thank you!

Did everyone already receive their financial aid from USC? Or am I the last one…
If so, how much grant did they give to you guys? Just wanna know if they’re generous haha

@smileyface31 i just got admitted today and so idk as well.

I was admitted a few days ago but I still can’t figure out how to access OASIS. Does USC send an e-mail with the password to that portal once you are admitted?

Anyone have success with appealing their financial aid package?

@smileyface31 I finally got my financial aid offer after about 2 weeks of waiting. They offered me about 27K in gift aid making my expected costs around 7K. I’m not sure the exact amount, but it was surprisingly almost 2K cheaper than UCLA. UCLA would cost me about 9.4K out of pocket. I’ve seen people saying they’d only need to pay 6K, so USC seems like it can be very generous. Although I read about another user earlier on in the thread that said USC offered them basically nothing, so I guess there are a lot of factors and maybe it even involves a bit of luck.

If USC sent you a SGR, you sent in your grades, and you have not heard anything from them call (213)740-1111 and make sure they know that they have your spring grades. You might be in the same boat I was in. I called after not hearing anything for two weeks to make sure everything was in order. The lady in the admissions office brought up my file and said they received my grades but the system did not update so she had to manually update it. aka they had my grades but did not know they had them. Next day they sent my acceptance letter and I received it a day after that.

can someone approve my request into the facebook group “USC 2015 Transfer Admits (Official)”? I sent a message to each of the admins but I haven’t been accepted yet. names Daniel J•••••••

Rejected from Marshall as a junior applicant. 3.8+ GPA. All major prerequisites done. Congrats to everyone who was accepted.

Hi guys… I have a question … so the financial aid award summary on you.usc.edu, the financial aid, summary, and tasks (usc fast) sheet… is that actually what I will be awarded?

Does anyone know if all rejections are sent out at the same time? Also should we be checking the portal for a decision or mail?

@zebra1000 sorry to hear about that. you sound qualified. were your spring grades strong?

@lordfx hi, when did u get admitted and when was your financial aid sent to you?

@zebra1000 I’m so sorry to hear about that. I’m sure with a gpa like that you have plenty of great choices. If you don’t mind me asking, did you receive any B’s this semester? Or W’s/class drops, etc?

@dhailey I took 10 units this spring. Received a B in Calc 1 and an A in Calc 2. The rejection letter was dated June 16. Pretty disappointed. I thought I would at least be considered for spring admission with a 3.84 GPA. Guess not :frowning:

@jch718 No drops or Ws this semester but only took 10 units. B in calc 1 and A in calc 2 (8 week classes).

@zebra1000 wow 2 calc classes in one semester! That on it’s own is something to be proud of! Wish you the best of luck!

@lordfx It is an estimate, so I think it can change. For example, the Pell Grant estimate is has is only half of what I was awarded while at CC, so I think the numbers definitely can change a little and you can get more/less.
