*******OFFICIAL USC Class of 2019 Results/Discussion Thread**********

The performing arts majors do have to audition. For music it is necessary to send in a tape and then some are selected to audition. A few major cities are audition sites, so it is not always necessary to travel to Los Angeles.
More details about that process can be found on CC in the drama and music forums.

No, it is not easier to be admitted to SC than UCLA. Each university is looking for a fit for that university’s freshman class. UCLA will favor California students. That is their mission. Only a certain number of international and out of state students are admitted. SC will select students from a global pool.

@jancoisdead‌ Here is a thread from last year: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/1632415-usc-appeals-2014.html

This is in reference to the financial aid question. SC admission is need blind. Well over half of SC students receive financial aid and over 20% receive merit based scholarships. I do not have statistics for the incoming class, so that may even be increased this year.

I get my wisdom teeth out on Friday so hopefully all the drugs will numb the pain of a rejection haha

for those who checked naviance and it says they were “denied”…could you talk to your college counselors and ask? maybe they could provide some insight into whether that is just a glitch or if it actually means something?

@LegacyMom thank you so much!!!

Decisions are being mailed out tomorrow :-SS [-O< ~X(

Tomorrow will be the dayyyyy oF THE DESTINY breaks into a song I’m so nervous… Someone hold me please. XD So if we’re getting rejected our letters will come a lot later than acceptance packets, right? :’(

pretty sure only one student saw “denied” on Naviance, and I’m sure it’s a mistake. My student has to tell his counselor where he’s accepted/denied so that she can update Naviance.

Sorry for the confusion, as this may have been discussed earlier, but USC starts sending letters out tomorrow right? Is there a possibility that I could receive the mail tomorrow since I live an hour away from USC? Or will it most likely be Wednesday at the earliest? Thanks for any responses.

My counselor said it might be a glitch in the system. So, I will know my fate ‘again’ tomorrow :slight_smile:

@kkc2015 that’s great. stay positive :slight_smile:

I’m the only person at my school who applied to USC, so I’m glad that this thread exists so I have people to relate with! This wait is killer!

Also, (this may be a little off-topic), but does anyone know anything about Chapman? (i.e. Is it a good school? How is it regarded by locals?) Possibly those who live in SoCal may know? I applied as my backup for USC and was accepted with a large scholarship, so I’m just wondering how it stacks up in case I don’t get a large yellow envelope this week!

I CANNOT wait any longer!!! Helllpppppp

Is it bad that I still went to check the mail even though I know that decisions haven’t been mailed yet and my decision won’t get to me until at least Wednesday? Lol, I just want to know!!

@LightningStorm1‌ haha I did the same thing!
