It's in San Diego
-It's right next to the beach
-Good school all around
-Friends are going
-Friendly chill environment
-Offered me great financial aid plan and I'll be in minimal, near-negligible, debt after four years.
Only problem is I wasn’t admitted into the Computer Science department but I’ll just transfer in (heard from alumni it’s actually not that hard if you keep your grades tip top, just gotta take the prerequisite classes) by sophomore year.
I’m willing to be a slave to debt for USC though LOL. Not UCB however, they’re going to have to offer me some substantial FA before I consider it… if they even accept me heh.
When it says mailed tomorrow, will it arrive at your door (if you live close to USC) tomorrow? Or will it arrive the day after (25th) for the 1-day shipping? Really hoping I get in, it’s my first choice.
Not UCLA, Merced and Berkeley did ask me for recommendation letters which I sent.
tbh I was never keen on going to UCLA anyway, I’ve always felt ambivalent towards the school (and downright hatred during college football season :P). But it’s the first school to reject me, so it naturally hurt. Just hope USC sees things differently.
probably going to UCSD but it’s always been my second UC choice so I’m excited
hoping for USC
Didn’t get financial aid tho but I’m VERY interested to see the trends for those who didn’t get into UCLA but will get into USC or Berkeley or both!
OH MAN USC GODS PLS HAVE MERCY ON ME, applying for Marshall (business admin?) with a 3.7 UW and 2000 SAT but pretty spectacular extra curriculars and essays if i may say so myself so hopefully that will be my redeeming factor
also did getting the email about applying for the topping scholarship mean anything or did everyone get that? I’m definitely late on asking LOL but just found it in my email oops
@ChipFoggers@EezaWeeza I’m in the same situation as you. My rejection from UCLA made me lose so much hope for USC so I’m not expecting anything anymore though there is a little bit of hope still left in me. Looks like I’m stuck with UCI. On another note I’m also excited to see the UCLA USC UCB trend- maybe it’s different from previous years!
@JordiDoesItWell Wow, it does seem like we’re in a similar situation! Yes, we can only now hope that were one of the lucky 16%. My packet, if it’s an acceptance, should get here Thursday. What about for you?
@imsoworried I received it too but I don’t believe it means anything… it seems to be sent out to mainly people who live close to USC, are from low income families, and a first generation college student.
Hello everybody!
I’m an international. Does anyone know that if we will receive any DHL notification in our email tomorrow if we got accepted?
Best of luck to you guys, y’all the best !
@FilmMaker1 , I’ve said this before. If you don’t get into SCA, try to get into the Business CInematic Arts program through Marshall. That is what happened to my 1st son. He applied for Film and TV, with no 2nd choice. He was admitted as an undeclared, contacted Marshall, got admitted to the Business school and applied to get into the BCA. It was one of the best things that ever happened to him.
Just a quick side comment: is the rejection letter completely different packaging-wise than the acceptance letter?
I know the acceptance letter comes in a large rectangular envelope… does the rejection come in just a plain standard letter format? i.e. you’ll know whether you got in or not based on packaging? That’ll assuage the tension a bit lol.
@ChipFoggers Yes, this year the acceptance is in a big yellow/gold packet sent USPS Priority Mail. Rejections are a standard first class white envelope.
