asap when all you have accomplished on this board is making people feel like crap for no reason, yes people are going to take offense to that.

What I mean to say is, you may be a great candidate and all, but until you get accepted, keep it to yourself.

I said I wouldn’t post here again until decisions but I’m going back on that. What did I say that could possibly make anyone feel like crap? Quote me directly. If I feel an apology is due, I will be happy to give one.

In addition, the only reason I brought up my confidence in my decision is to add to the financial aid/check mark theories. I’m trying to add a bit more information.

Hey, everyone… I’m applying to UVa as a transfer student primarily because William and Mary’s financial aid sucks. Does anyone think that decisions will come out tomorrow? Historically, they have always come out on the last Friday of April.

Im not personaly offended, I could care less. But alot of people thought that they had good chances with the to do list and you told them it doesnt mean anything because you dont have it. People get offended easily, and any kind of glimmer of hope can get people through the day if their at a place they don’t want to be. Just thought it was rude of you to put those people down, that’s all.

Lol, I certainly didn’t put those people down. I simply stated that I don’t think it means anything. And I’m not rationalizing because I don’t have it; I really don’t believe it means anything.

It’s sickening to see numerous members gang up and attack me for stating what I believe. Don’t like it/don’t think it’s true? Dismiss it, but do not tell me I’m “making people feel like crap.”

Also, I agree with whoever said that my posts sound pretentious. Confidence in oneself does not bode well on the Internet.

Once again, good luck to all.

Hey Y’all,

Just checking in. I have been lurking here since early March so I figured I would say hello.

I have a green check have, had it since Early April, and I also have one to-do list item regarding tax forms.

I am an OOS applicant, and I would like to let you guys know that there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to this entire process.

I have good stats, great ecs, and great essays and I was:

Admitted: UGA
Waitlisted: UNC

Haven’t heard: Dartmouth, Emory, GWU, and UVA and…
Big shocker here. If you have heard of the Eli Whitney Program at Yale… It is for non-traditional students. 160-200 people apply historically and about 15 people get in-person interviews. They select however many from the interviewees that the believe fit the program. Well I got a call on Tuesday saying they wanted to interview me. So, I am flying up to New Haven next friday in a suit to show these people I belong at Yale.

But I tell you this to ask. How do I get wait listed at UNC???

im not offended either. the logical part of my brain honestly doesn’t think it means anything… I guess the theories just kind of push you through till decisions.

It sounded like it didn’t matter what anyone else discovered because you didn’t have it and your app is the best so it doesn’t matter. thats just how it came across, not saying that was the intention. I don’t think its wrong at all to say what you believe, i think the way it was worded came off pretentiously. honestly though, i don’t think any of us were offended… just a little taken back by it. but thanks for posting, i know we all enjoy getting new information (:

also hopestobeahoya, in regard to the decision release date, history has shown that they are released the friday before may 1. However, transfermer just posted on the blog and said it would only be a little while longer. Im not sure how long that implies.

^Oh…I just read it. Well, technically, tomorrow still is not ruled out completely, then.

Hey guys… Ive been following this thread for a long time and now finally I am posting…If what you guys think is actually the truth (the idea that a check with to dos is an acceptance) then I guess i have slim chances. I turned my application in in Feburary. Im transferring from an all guys Liberal arts college… Had a 3.48 GPA first semester… HS GPA of 3.29 UW (With 5AP’s and an IB Diploma), 3.53W… ACT of 30… Seems like I may have slim chances…I also was unable to get my midterm grades in to UVA so that must be a problem?

if it is tomorrow… that’d be so soon!! Either way, I cannot believe it is almost time for decisions!

For those who don’t where to find transfermer’s new post:

I know that the anxiety has been building as we near May 1st, but we would appreciate some respect and understanding for and of our processes. We do more than the reading of applications. We travel, we recruit prospective students, we recruit admitted students, we advise transfer and first-year students, we take phone calls. The list could go on. From late March and through April, we have hosted close to 20,000 visitors.
I realize emotions can swell in this anonymous forum. You are welcome to seek comfort and camaraderie in one another’s anxiety and excitement, but please do not criticize the admission process or the admission staff and our contacts.
It is our pleasure to give you decisions by May 1st - a date that is clearly posted on our website. We never promise anything earlier. It’ll just be a little while longer. Thanks for your patience, thanks for reading and thanks for posting.

…can’t tell is asap is trolling or not anymore lol

@aumack421 lKSJFKSDJ good luck on your interview! Wear your prettiest tie. haha and I’ve never had the slightest interest in UNC so have no theories for how they do their process hahah

@celticsfan2466 noooo as I keep saying…they are just made up guesses to make myself feel better T_T haha I don’t think midterms have anything to do with it though because most people don’t send theirs in!

@UkraineTrain UDABOMB and I can’t stop saying your username over and over again.

Not trolling…just trying to move the thread in the right direction since everyone was taken aback by my comment. Might as well get this thread back on track.

Anyways, tomorrow would be awesome, but I’m keeping my expectations low.

hahah YEA I’m trying to keep my expectations low…not working.

92 comments on the most recent blog post.

That’s a record.

XOchopstixXO: Yes I am taking 5 different ones. I want to wear a navy blue one but I don’t know if that is to… oh i don’t know how you say it… brown nosing??

I have talked mi madre into driving over from Boston and picking me up at the airport, so she will be making the final decision. Girls usually know best when it comes to those matters. I will just nod in agreement and tie whichever tie she chooses.

hahahah mm yes, mother knows best. Brown nosing seems completely appropriate for the situation. Wouldn’t even hurt to find a bulldog and bring it with you. In fact, I bet it is expected that you do.

Also, I have a feeling decisions won’t be released tomorrow T_T In other years, Transfermer usually posted the day before whether or not the decisions will be released the next day.
EDIT: Just kidding. I just checked 2010 and I am completely wrong STILL HOPE.

asap69… your stats are not great at all. why would you say you’re a shoe-in? i have a higher gpa than you (even after only getting 2.4 one semester) and higher sat scores. and I am seriously doubting that I will get in.
