***OFFICIAL UW FRESHMAN '24 THREAD*** ADMISSIONS/PREPARATION

@alexlin02 The e-mail gives the 3/1 - 3/15 time frame.

@west2east20 @otherhood2020 Yeah I have not received any new information about the decision date either. I’m just concerned about whether my application will even be considered because I never submitted my official scores.

@alexlin02 can you call admissions and see what they recommend?

@alexlin02 You should definitely call. Seeing as how competitive admissions is at UW, them not having your test scores, is likely an issue. Here what their website says:

When to submit scores

Applicants for summer or autumn are required to have official test scores sent directly to the UW from the testing agency no later than December 31.

I just got an email back saying that they still processed my app. Thanks for the help.

Do I have a chance? UW is my top choice (and I applied to others) but if I don’t get in my parents are going to make me stay in state… Which I really don’t want to do! Thanks

@405emmag assuming you aren’t hoping for Computer Science, seems to me you have a great shot. But I’m just a mom of another applicant! ?

@juliarawson21 Very solid app for CS and the ROTC piece should help, in my humble opinion.

My intuition is results will start coming out on March 6, and I have no sauce to back up that claim, just based on what I observed from previous years. I bet Presidential in-state scholars will be notified between March 2-5. Soon we will be in March, thank goodness. Good luck!

I’m just hoping for pre-sciences, so thanks!! @west2east20

I just found out about direct admission and was wondering if I had a shot?

Overall, UW is one of my top schools although I did not realize how competitive engineering majors are. I’d say my essays are a 7.5 / 10 although I am not the best writer.

Hopefully one more week until we hear back! Hoping March 6th is the day.

@juliarawson21 If you were in state I’d say absolutely. However I heard that out of state for cs and engineering is really hard to get into (not impossible though!)

My boyfriend is a freshman at UW rn and he got a navy ROTC 4 year scholarship… he told me colleges LOVE that so I’d imagine that would definitely help!

Good luck! :slight_smile:

hi when do we expect to hear back from UWash?

I guess they will release their decisions on this Friday, which is the 6th, like last year they did.
Good luck!

Okay so if we are following by the patterns of past years it should be this Friday??

Does anyone know what time we think decisions will come out?

@furniture
I think you are right, but I am not 100% sure about this year, the patterns might change.

am I the only one refreshing my email and portal every hour??? reading some of these comments has me wondering- is it as hard to get into the sociology program here as it is to get into computer science?

@alylamont
Oh, my friend! I do it every five minutes
