Official Yale 2011 Scea Thread

Cozmo, im sorry but I simply cannot find your statement plausible. What you are inferring is that roughly 100 students of yale’s incoming class are accepted based on merit.

Yeah… no…

On a positive note, I got my “Yale Application Received” email!

Sweet! Just scheduled my alumni interview. :)

Hello my fellow hopers for the class of 2011,

I have applied to Yale SCEA as an international student from Germany. I read your post about the alumnus interview. As far as I know does Yale schedule the interviews for the applicants, but it is safer to ask if there is no response.
Am I right with that assumption or do I just have to wait until contacted by Yale?

Lots of luck to all of you!!!

Jerome

I got my email today at 8:00 am.

Eeee I got both my application confirmation e-mail and an e-mail from an alumnus asking to set up an interview (sometime this week!) this morning.

It’s kind of overwhelming… thinking I would have my interview in a few weeks, and getting an e-mail saying that it should be THIS week!

Also, the e-mail said that we get our ELI accounts through the regular mail, and that we will receive a notification sometime in the future telling us that our application is complete or that we are missing things.

What a relief it is to finally have the confirmation e-mail. I dreaded that they wouldn’t get my application and it would get lost somewhere in the information superhighway. So now, 39 more days of waiting, and we’ll all be watching out for that fabled dancing bulldog. Can’t wait. December 14th, in my opinion, will probably be one of the most anxious days of my life. If you can even say that. An anxious day. Oh boy.

thinking outside just those 4 categories-- ‘unhooked.’ not so much ‘merit’ as unhooked merit.

Sohni–

did you contact your alumni interviewer? Ah! i’m getting nervous…!

Is it bad that I already know what I’m ordering from the Yale online store if I have reason to celebrate on December 14th?

I want an interview…

I haven’t bothered looking. I’d buy the whole store, after all.

The email didn’t mention tracking our materials online, just an account number (Eli, I’m guessing) for online decisions. So we can’t track? Boo.

Not that it makes a huge difference (actually it kind of does), but some of you mentioned that the decisions are being posted on the 14th…but my confirmation letter said the 15th. I’m confused. Can anyone clarify?
Thanks a lot

And, btw, CONGRATS to everyone who scheduled their interview/got their ELI account number (yeahhh theoneoooo woohoo :))…it’s sooo exciting!

I’m panicking!!! I still haven’t gotten my confirmation e-mail! Is this bad???

Erm it’s probably the 15th. I’ve always been bad with dates.

We were referring to being ANXIOUS on the 14th because decisions will be released on the 15th.

Ohhhh got it.

Around what time do you think they’ll be released? Would it be 12 AM exactly, for example, or like later in the day. A lot of the SCEA decision posts from last year were later in the day, so I’m assuming around then, but just wondering

littlelis, I didn’t contact my alum interviewer yet but if I don’t hear anything in the next two weeks I will. Eeek, I’m already so anxious and nervous!

Wait, don’t you get online decisions before mid-December? What’s the point of having online decisions if they aren’t available before the mailed decisions are. I was hoping for close to the beginning of December, but now Christmas will probably have to be ruined lol.

Hold on a moment… what about us international people who sometimes don’t get mail until about 2 or 3 weeks after it’s been sent? (Yes, people at my school had cases of waiting up to 6 weeks for college-related letters…) Will that hurt us in any significant way?
