Official Yale 2011 Scea Thread

“anyone know the chance of getting in regular after you’ve been deferred adn does anyone have a website or link for this statistic?”

that was the exact question I was gonna ask, so I second the request please

I think it was like 15%

I don’t know about you guys but I’m hosting a deferred party tomorrow because NOBODY got in ANYWHERE from my school. Last year we had like 15 people get in early to Ivies, and this year so far I know of only 2.

yeah, EVERYONE is getting deferred from my school. it’s kind of ridiculous. i know of… 3 people into ivy leagues so far, but there are tons of people i haven’t talked to yet.

Third the request. Deferred, which is great! I’m not that disappointed at all, actually kind of relieved it wasn’t a denial.

And I got into University of Michigan today so I know I’m at least going to end up going there, which is an amazing school.

The deferance letter says that I can e-mail the Admissions Office with new information about me such as new awards etc.
Does anyone know if I’ll be able to edit my Yale Application? There are some major changes to essays/short answers that I could make if it were allowed.

Thanks, :)

I got deferred too.
I dont have any new information right now, but I was just wondering: Do we EMAIL them with new information, or do we have MAIL them?
I dont think we can edit our actual application anymore.

Yeah, what exactly is the route we take now? Can we submit another supplementary letter of rec? Another supplementary material? That sort of thing?

From Long Island…Deferred. Now I know how Pluto feels…

deferred. shoot me

I Got Into Yale!!! My twin sister got into HARVARD!!!

Techy, that sounds like fun.

Did any Indians get into Yale SCEA this year? The reason I ask this is because like every uberqualified Indian I know in real life and on CC who applied to Yale got deferred/rejected.:(

EAD,

Yeah, just from glancing at the decisions thread, not too many Indians or even Asians in general for that matter seem to have made it, at least yet.

But just a quick ‘inspirational story’…lol…my 100% Indian friend, very very good but not incredibly extraordinary, was deferred SCEA two years ago and picked up in the RD round. Her mom said the EA round is where a lot of the athletes and legacies are picked up…I don’t know how reliable a source her mom is…but still, this means that there’s a bit more hope in the RD round. Good luck everyone!

What’s the facebook group called? I can’t find it!!

i got deferred. sigh.
my best friend got into harvard. and then decided to get into a fight with me. and she acted very bigheaded and stuck up. and thats when i lost all respect for her.
this weekend really sucks. sigh.

is the admitted student website up? what’s on it- messageboard? facebook?

hey,

i’m an indian girl who got accepted early!

and I’m an asian girl who got accepted early!
