The whole 9/11 loss thing is te backbone of what drives my future ambitions and somewhat the reason I want to go to Yale.

My other option; which I find more interesting; is growing up in a conservative, rural, border town, being a republican myself, and being raised by Lesbian parents.

I think that’s a little unique and has shapedmy life goals more than anything else.

It determines whether it’s reminiscing or remembering the past. A kid in my class had parents on the plane and she guesses, according to seating that she saw them.

hi everyone i am also applying to yale scea im a senior (heck yes class of 007) at a high school in southeastern wisconsin. good luck to eveyone who applies!!!

Okay, i have to decide. Mine is either about the time i had to pretend to kiss another guy on stage in front of my school for a play and i was mortified but then it ended up being really hilarious and i won an award.
OR
There is this picture of me in my diaper trying to climb up onto the piano bench where my sisters are both sitting and I would use it to launch into how my sisters shaped who I am.

I guess I’m asking for opinions but I’ll probably write both since we need more than one essay for Yale…

I have a 2000+ SAT score, an above 4.0 GPA and whatnot just like everyone else and their mother. I’m debating right now whether to apply to Stanford or Yale early… I want to write essays about how growing up in a minority have shaped me as a person. I also want to write about my hospital experiences. I do many, many extracurriculars and what not…

Questions:

Should I apply early action to Yale or Stanford (I realize this board will be somewhat biased, but I would still appreciate advice at this point)

Do I have a good chance at Yale?

you haven’t given us really anything to base our decision by… what ec’s, ~2000 sat isn’t the most impressive score for a yale/stanford applicant

But I wouldn’t do the essay about kissing the guy, I don’t see what that shows about you. The other essay sounds good, though, especially with the picture you have.

I still have to do my NMS essay and another essay for Yale/colleges.
Actually, I have a little question about them. You know how you’d say “you’re in my territory now” when talking to someone about your strongsuit? How would you say that not in dialogue. Would it still be “That’s in my territory” cause it sounds a little wierd.

Is it true that if you apply early action and you are deferred, you can still add things to your application for the regular decision round? Not just test scores, but extracurricular achievements, etc.

i’m a girl…and i am not going to be on jeopardy… i was in the same audition as papa chakravarthy, who ended up winning the team tournament. the ironic part is that i actually tied with him in the mock-round of the audition.

also i am majorly procrastinating national merit. i have no idea what to say for that one, but i think i may have to use it as my second for yale because i don’t have the energy to write yet another 500 word essay.

as for the strongsuit, i would just go right out and say that its my strongsuit

GUYS
Yale is awesome. so awesome. ridiculously awesome.
other people are getting tired of me saying this, but i figure you guys understand the feeling.:)
