I haven’t started my essays yet!!! I can’t think of what to write about :/

^bleh…same here.

FAIL.

well i guess my app wont be complete until i send in november scores. i thought the least i could do was send in everything else early haha.

should I send my scores as of now so they have something official before my new SAT I comes in? as of now, yale has official confirmation of none of my scores…

I guess as long as you specify that you will rush your Nov. scores as soon as they become available, you should be fine. Only submit previous scores if you think they are good I suppose.

Dam. Maybe im super far behind, but I just wrote my first rough draft of the common app essay let alone the supplement. However unlike the several of you my future happiness does not rest on something as insignificant as whether or not I get into the school of my choice. In the great scope of things this is one piece of the puzzle, indeed I feel that Yale is looking for that candidate who is confident about their chances and their persona, and would not be heartbroken if they were denied. I also feel that wherever one goes to college one will receive a good education. The college craze is blown far out of proportion. Do not think me to harsh though, for I sympathize with you. I believe the main reason I want to attend Yale is because the student body is just so fascinating, and I feel I would truly be able to flourish in such an environment. Anyone else feel the same? Also would anyone like to read my very rough draft of my essay?

And yeah i figure some strung out person will flame me for this speech. I apologize in advance.

Don’t flatter yourself, dude. People say the same stuff you said all the time. They just usually say it with poise and eloquence, and without having to use sentence long cliches like “The college craze is blown far out of proportion.”

how do you rush scores?

Also, how much faster do they get to the college?

We know that Pachu…

I’m giving as much effort on this as anything I’d pay 75 dollars for.

Gryphon knows whats up.
And areyouserious: it may be a cliche but its also true. And I mainly said all that to see what type of responses I elicited. GLuck.

btw you all probably think i’m some type of stuck up a**hole right now. I’m not I just thought the thread far too serious so I decided to add humor. Although you probably dont see the humor in that

but on a serious topic. How would I go about giving an extra recommendation from a source outside the school? Should I enclose it with my application or should I have them send it directly. Its basically a letter of recommendation and a few leaflets etc. on the program i helped run this summer.

im an international! (feel kinda random just popping in like this)

wow some of you have already submitted it? that’s something. I have a very low self-esteem with my application. yale is my top TOP choice, but i’ll need almost a full-ride scholarship to attend. anyone tied to financial ‘duties’ like i am? (yale claims to be need-blind, but applying for a scholarship can’t really help you)

raise hand look here, mistofolis.
My parents told me they won’t pay a cent for me if I get into an expensive school like Yale >_>

Do you know how to read between the lines?

Nobody cares about what you said. We obviously all know that already. Especially since you said it poorly. But clearly someone (read between the lines here: you) thought your prose vomit was some kind of genius rhetoric or something. Trust me. You said nothing new, and you made sure to make it as tired and boring as possible when you said it.

hmm…my question was ignored :(

how do you rush scores? And do we need to rush November scores for Yale ea?

are you serious areyouseriousss

hahah ur mad serious. In fact ur too serious. U need to relax. Find some calm place and take a few deep breaths. I already said I was kidding. You dont even need to read between the lines of my last post to realize that. Maybe you can’t read…

hello hello my fellow SCEA hopefuls!
i’m princess bell! lol.

let’s forget these silly EA worries and use this thread for good, not evil!
waves magic wand

don’t rush SAT scores. it’s a scam, and multiple colleges have told me at info sessions that it rarely comes any faster.

Anyway Im done with this stupid argument. how many of you are doing resumes and do you think theyre necessary?

I did a resume, per say. I really just made a table in the same format as the common app detailing my ECs briefly. the app really gives you no room to elaborate and indicate the actual level of your achievement or what your leadership position entails.

I did a resume and I think that they could literally be the difference between getting accepted and rejected.

No I’m not BSing, I know what I’m talking about. I’ll check up on you guys in the spring and we will see that what I said was right. If you want to be smart, I suggest you go ahead and apply RD for better chances and stronger consideration of your application. Not to mention the extreme difference in the self-selectivity of the applicant pools. This is the truth.
