Offshore capmuses of CMU/UMass etc

Are degrees from offshore campuses of top universities equally good as the original campus ones? As in, I’m trying to ask if somebody does their BBA from an offshore campus, can he get admitted to one of the top 20 US business schools with that BBA if he has a GPA of say 3.5 or above?

What do you mean by “offshore”? UMass doesn’t have any campuses outside of Massachusetts.

I read somewhere that there is UMass Amherst in Malaysia.
And CMU in Kuwait/Qatar/Dubai?

Not UMass - [UMass Campuses](http://www.massachusetts.edu/institutions/institutions.html)
CMU has a campus in Qatar [Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar | Home](http://www.qatar.cmu.edu/)

Yes so what I’m asking is, if one gets a degree from the CMU Qatar campus, will it be of the same caliber as the inland CMU? Would it be considered a top degree, preferred by other universities for Masters programs, have good employer repute?

I was curious about this and I did a little googling. The degree granted is a full CMU degree, no different than the main campus degree, there is no designation on the degree that it is from a branch campus. So CMU is putting it’s full reputation behind the degrees granted at that campus. This makes me conclude that it is a solid degree and should be treated as same by grad school and employers.

That said, it hasn’t been around long enough to be graduating classes and have a track record of those students accomplishments, if indeed they are even tracked separately since they hold the identical degree.

For top 20 business schools, there are other factors than your undergrad college and your gpa at work in determining acceptance, however, but I suppose you know that. So while you will be qualified on that basis, they are also going to be very interested in your employment record. And there is the GMAT.
