Oh, come on!

I got a pretty thick letter-size envelope from Potsdam today…
I was all excited, thinking it was a Crane acceptance letter, but nope!
Just one of those “Here’s why you should come here…” things that everyone and their grandmother gets.

Grr.

ouch…that’s brutal.

Ahh I know! The waiting is so hard

You mean I can throw out that old tattered, yellow envelope of grandma’s from Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium ?

My wife saves everything, and at least now I can get rid of some of grandma’s old papers.

:D

I got that too, riku. To be honest, I didn’t know what it was, since I had already been accepted into Potsdam, and it was too soon to be anything from Crane. I just briefly flipped through it, saw it contained nothing I didn’t already know, and flopped it back down on the table.

Your Crane acceptance letter will be a single piece of paper in an envelope.

@Sagiter - oh that’s just evil. Every acceptance I’ve received so far has been a big packet. I’d think I got denied. :(

DS got most of his acceptance letters to undergrad in SMALL thin envelopes. The big info came later.

Agreed all DS’s accepances came either by short email or 1 page envelopes. At least to the music parts of the schools. Acceptance to the other part of the school came in a larger packet.

Cincinnati came today. Letter, list of vocal faculty, form to confirm you’re coming and teacher request form. Appears it was mailed Feb 25. We had already gone online and checked our account to find out the acceptance status.

D received a thin white envelope today from a school where she auditioned in January. It was a letter from the Director of Admissions and said:

“… your application appears incomplete at this time. We are unable to evaluate your application for admission until we receive the required document…”

followed by “Music Audition” on a separate line. And then, “Please be sure to send the missing item listed above as soon as possible.”

This school wasn’t the highest on D’s list to begin with, and now occupies the bottom all by itself.

@Dadofclard - Oh jeez. I would get them on the phone and flip out… bottom of the list or not. Wasted time and money!

Speaking of missing items in application, seems like we have spent way to much time following up status of recommendation letters. First schools couldn’t give us status, hadn’t reviewed, then said apps. were with professors, couldn’t tell us status, then received notice that recommendation letter wasn’t received and due yesterday… Same recommender many schools. I have to think some of them are lost. This is almost impossible for son to follow up given his schedule so fall on me. Just felt like expressing frustration here and recommend starting VERY early and possibly sending in snail mail with signature receipt. Some schools however want recommendations emailed, then say you can check status on line, which is not really possible till last minute or never… Grrrr. Almost done with this phase.

Being the OCD person I am, I was worried to begin with about recommendation letters so I had the teacher write the letter, put in envelope and initial the seal and give it back to me so I could put it in my envelope with the pre-screening CD. So far, no backlash from that. The Eastman system is good, too. Their rec letters are online and you get an email confirmation when the teacher completes their form. That way you know it’s done.
