oh god, parallelism strikes again

Hello!

I realized a parallelism error in my common app essay after I had already sent it out, like, everywhere.

It says “in both popular media and in the real world” instead of “both in popular media and in the real world” or even “in both popular media and the real world”.

I’m honestly not sure how I didn’t catch this, so please don’t gripe on me about it. I already do enough of that for myself.

What does this mean for me??

It means that you are obsessing about your application.

It means nothing. At all. Go have a good holiday break.

It means you made a minor typo, and you can’t do anything but correct it for the rest of your applications.

You could attempt to reach out to schools whose deadlines have not passed yet for applications and see if you can resubmit an essay.

Thanks for everyone’s responses, I know I am being super paranoid and everything, but I really can’t help it, haha. I have calmed down a bit though. I hope you all have a happy holidays!

Doesn’t matter a bit. Nothing to worry about. Good luck, @zeezeebee !

I would not even notice…minor grammar point. Not even sure someone reading would consider it “wrong”! No worries.
