oh man what do I do now!

We watched a video today in history and we have assigned seats. The boy in front of me is huge and I couldn’t see at all and the stupid teacher wouldn’t let me move! So I decided not to listen either. I sat there and drew flowers and practically wasted my time. We watch movies all the time in this class and they are usually useless and don’t connect to the curriculum. So today, he decided to quiz us on the movie and I think I got like a 10%! What am I going to do? I’ve maintained a 98% average in his class all year!!! I’m so scared!

Don’t worry. I’ve gotten a 60% quiz in History class and I still have a 93 average, which is great in that class (well, I hope I still have that average :))

I swear to you, that quiz will not matter. Ask for extra credit if your teacher is nice, but don’t worry about it. At the most, it’ll drop your average by one point at this point in time, or maybe two at worst. Then you’d have what - a 97, a 96? You can bring it back up with other quizzes. If he gives you enough before the end of the quarter, you won’t suffer at all.

Yeah, I usually do well on the tests and he makes homework 25% of the final grade. Oh well.

Exactly, that’s a great track to go on.

Say tests are worth 40 percent of your grade; quizzes 20, and homework 25. That leaves you with another 15 percent for, let’s say, practical experiments or something. So let’s say you have ten quizzes a quarter, so each one would be worth 2 points of your grade, right? I’m not very good at math… but, of course, that’s figuring 2 points off if you got a 0 on that quiz, which you said you didn’t. So you’d get less than two points off. And you could still bring those up with your homework grades, test grades, “practical experiments”, and other quizzes. With extra credit added in, you could actually get a 100 average. Last year I had a 100% something in History because she gave lots of extra credit, so I got a 107% on one test and a 96% on one. Does your teacher do extra credit on tests or anything in general?

Ahhh stinks…

Mr. Wilfholm actually does give out extra credit, Jane… Was that Kyle’s big fat head in front of you? If it was, that’s just unfortunate because he IS huge. That quiz would have been easy if you watched it. It was about Donner’s Party if you knew that much. LOL.

Hey, dancer and Jane, do you go to the same school? Please explain. That was confusing. ^^

Oh yea… Sorry…haha

Yeah…She’s one of my friends from school and I actually recruited her to this board.

dancer is also on my dance team, but she’s baling on all of us to go to Andover next year! boo!
