Oh My Gosh

Okay so I just took the SAT Math 2 and the SAT Lit, and I bombed the Math 2. I think I may have gotten a 650 or a 640. So I really would like to know if I killed my chances. For those who have previously seen my stats I apologize for reposting, but I really want to know how a low Math 2 is going to impact my application, considering that I am majoring in engineering.

Distinctive Research:

9th Quantitative Analysis of Electron Transition in Helium

My standarized math scores seem pretty low, but I did get a 35 on the ACT Math.

Wow… I should probably take the ACT… i got 2090 on SAT but I know i’m stronger than that… Kind of similar to your scores

^^Yeah 100% take the ACT, if you look in the ACT prep thread you will see tons of ppl just like me, who scored in the 2000s for the SAT and then got really high grades on the ACT.

Come on ppl respond, did I ruin my chances? Or can I still possible get in?

Oh, wow, I think you still have a chance. How did you do all those research projects? With whom?

You still have a chance. The rest of your application looks really good. If you are convinced that this was a one time thing and you can probably get over 720ish on your math 2 it might be worth canceling and retaking at your earliest convenience…

You’re in. And if you can play football well enough, then you get to bring a friend as well. Regardless of your athletic ability, you should be admitted.

Tom, I did the research on my own. I did one every year, but since I did it on my own I paid for it myself (hence the jobs), but senior year the project I wanted to do for Siemen’s and Intel (which was studying anisotropy dependence on polarization type) cost way too much and I couldn’t do it. Also the projects are not as cost intensive as they first seem because the projects focused on effects with applications to engineering. Like for 9th grade it was a quantitative investigation (i.e. just math) with applications for engineering.
