OH NO! Not another chance me!!!

Haha sorry guys, but I love Pomona and want to know what my chances are for RD.

Objectives:
3.7 UW GPA, 4.28 weighted (Sharp upward trend from end of Soph year)
30 ACT (The bane of my existence… but I’m a poor test taker because of my ADHD)
780 US history subject test, 700 lit
4 on AP gov and AP lit, 3 on AP US
Have taken 8 AP and 7 honors. My school offers 12 AP classes, I believe.

Subjectives:
2 FANTASTIC teacher recs (Seriously, I was on the verge of tears!)
Counselor rec is great (Not quite the caliber of the teachers, but still quite nice)
Common App essay is about the risk I took, asking the head cheerleader to prom
Pomona “experience” essay is about high school debate, which is the activity that defines me.
Context essay is about how I deal with my ADHD without taking medication (Arguably the best of the three, and writing is my strong point)

ECs:
Debate (4 yrs). Nationally ranked, district champion, state finalist, taught at a debate camp, captain for three years, etc. Responsible for making me who I am today.
Speech (4 yrs). Similar to debate; nationally ranked, placed in state finals in Poetry, Prose, and Original Oratory.
Attended Boys Nation (11). Out of 700 kids chosen for Boys State, the top 2 from each state get to go to Washington for Boys Nation, where you learn about the government and meet cool people like President Obama.
Key Club (since 10, President 12)
Class Officer (President 11, Treasurer 12)
STUCO (VP since 11)
National Honor Society (Since 10)
Drama Club (member since 9, VP since 11)
French Club (VP since 11)
International Thespian Society (double honor bar)
Youth Symphony (Since 9, third and second chair. Cello)

Comm Service:
Over 200 hours at after-school daycare service
Over 100 hours at community outreach center
Apart from that, worked vigorously through Key Club, NHS, and STUCO

Misc:
Come from a rather average public school in OK.
My parents are both foreigners, one from France and one from Iran.

Thank you!

Though nothing is ever guaranteed in the crazy college admissions process, if your essays are good, I’d say you have a pretty good chance.

Best of luck to you! (my daughter is in freshman year and absolutely loving every Pomona moment)

I was going to give you constructive criticism until I saw you use ADHD as an excuse for your ACT score. Never do that. I have it and I never tell people I just work my ass off three times as hard as everyone else and I come out on top.

We don’t want you at Pomona if you don’t have that attitude when you have to deal with a problem like this. Making excuses like that and asking for special treatment is why so many people fake having learning disabilities for special privileges causing resentment of those who openly admit to having one.

Also, just FYI- when you are looking for a job, nobody will cut you slack because of a LD. You probably need to hear this advice from someone who has been through what you’re going through and sees people around him who made the excuses you are making fail miserably.

Thanks for the response Enkephalon! To clarify, I choose not to receive extra time because of my LD. I apologize for the way I worded it in the original post.
