Oh no, not Gregg Allman...

RIP Gregg. You made great music.

:frowning:

Considering his health issues, he probably lived longer than expected. Still a great loss. Glad I got a chance to see him perform at The Beacon several times.

“Midnight Rider”? “Ramblin’ Man”? “Whippin’ Post”?

Oh, man…

Darn.

Wow, I was just at a party this afternoon that had a band and they played “Melissa” (Sweet Melissa). As soon as I heard the first chords, I turned to my husband and said , Sweet Melissa, I love this song. This was about noon so the word wasn’t out yet . I’m sure the musician would have said something had he known. Whipping Post is one of the best songs ever, the way it builds. RIP Gregg

Sad. RIP Gregg.

Yeah, not unexpected but dang nevertheless… Gotta vote for Not My Cross to Bear as best blues song ever. I’ve listened to it hundreds of times, many many times on repeat. True perfection… If a genie gave me wishes, one would be to go back in time and be in the audience at Fillmore East.
